Ques. Is GPAT mandatory for admission to M.Pharm (Pharmacy Practice) at SGT University?
Ans. GPAT is the primary national-level entrance exam accepted for M.Pharm admissions at SGT University, and having a valid GPAT score significantly strengthens your application. However, SGT University also offers direct merit-based admissions for candidates who have not appeared in GPAT, based on their B.Pharm percentage and a Personal Interview. So while GPAT is preferred, it is not strictly mandatory for admission to this programme at SGT University.
Ques. What is the difference between M.Pharm (Pharmacy Practice) and M.Pharm (Pharmacology) at SGT University?
Ans. M.Pharm (Pharmacy Practice) focuses on clinical pharmacy, patient counselling, hospital and community pharmacy management, and direct patient care roles. It is ideal for students who want to work in hospital settings, interact with patients, and manage medication therapy. M.Pharm (Pharmacology), on the other hand, is more research-oriented and focuses on drug mechanisms, toxicology, and pharmacodynamics, making it suitable for those interested in pharmaceutical research or academia. The fee for Pharmacy Practice is Rs. 1,80,000 per annum, while Pharmacology is Rs. 1,50,000 per annum as per the 2024-25 fee schedule.

Ques. Is hostel accommodation available for M.Pharm students at SGT University, and is it compulsory?
Ans. Hostel accommodation is available at SGT University for both boys and girls in separate hostels on campus, but it is not compulsory. Students can choose to stay in the hostel or commute from their own residence. The hostel fee (inclusive of mess charges) is Rs. 2,00,000 per annum for twin sharing, Rs. 1,80,000 for three sharing, and Rs. 1,40,000 for four sharing. Hostel fees are payable on a yearly basis and cannot be paid in instalments.
Ques. Can I get a scholarship for M.Pharm (Pharmacy Practice) at SGT University, and what is the process to apply?
Ans. Yes, SGT University offers merit-based scholarships for PG programmes including M.Pharm. If you have scored 90% or above in your B.Pharm degree, you are eligible for a 100% tuition fee waiver (split equally across both years). Students with 80-89.99% can get a 50% fee waiver, and those with 70-79.99% can get a 25% fee waiver. Scholarship applications typically open in July and are awarded in August. You must apply to your respective Dean within one month of result declaration for continuation of the scholarship in subsequent years. Only one scholarship can be availed at a time, and the highest applicable benefit is awarded.
