Ans. Under NEP 2020, SGT University offers B.Com in two formats. The 3-year programme (6 semesters) awards a B.Com (Hons.) degree and is suitable for students who want to enter the workforce or pursue professional qualifications like CA, CS, or MBA sooner. The 4-year programme (8 semesters) awards a B.Com (Hons. with Research) degree, which includes a research component in the final year and is better suited for students interested in higher studies, research, or competitive examinations. The 4-year degree also provides a stronger academic profile for postgraduate admissions. Students can decide at the end of the 3rd year whether to exit with the B.Com (Hons.) degree or continue for the 4th year.
Ques. Is CUET mandatory for B.Com (Hons.) admission at SGT University, or can I apply directly?
Ans. CUET UG is not mandatory for B.Com (Hons.) admission at SGT University. The university accepts both CUET UG scores and direct merit-based applications based on Class 12 marks. Students who have appeared for CUET UG 2026 (exam scheduled May 11-31, 2026) can use their scores for admission, which may also make them eligible for CUET-based scholarships (up to 100% tuition fee concession for 95th percentile and above). Students who have not appeared for CUET can still apply directly through the SGT University admission portal and will be considered based on their Class 12 aggregate marks.
