Vidya Sagar University offers various UG, PG and Research level courses to the candidates. The M.Ed course was offered by Yogoda Satsanga Palpara Mahavidyalaya, which was affiliated by the Vidyasagar University in 1985. It is a 2-year course for expertise in the field of education and is suitable for teachers who need to hone their skills in education planning and administration.

Vidyasagar University M.Ed Eligibility Criteria
Candidates seeking admission to the programme should have obtained a minimum of 55% marks or an equivalent grade in the following programmes:
- B.Ed
- B.A. B.Ed.,
- B.Sc. B. Ed,
- B.El.Ed,
- D.El.Ed. with an undergraduate degree (with 50% marks in each)

Vidyasagar University M.Ed Admission Criteria
Admission is done on the basis of merit only. The merit list is prepared on the basis of marks obtained by the candidates in their respective qualifying examinations conducted by the Board/Council or University. 30 % of seats will be allotted to the teachers from the language group, 30% for the science group, and 40% for the social science group.
Merit will be based on two main components:
- Career Marking: In Career Marking five components (i.e. Aggregate marks obtained in 10th, 12th, Graduation, Post-Graduation & B. Ed as mentioned in point (EC-I) will be proportionately evaluated in 50 marks by distributing 10 marks for each.
- Entrance Test: There will be a written test of 1 hour.30 minutes duration comprising 50 MCQ type questions of 1 mark each (Total Marks 50). The questions will be set from the B.Ed syllabus.
Based on the sum of total marks obtained in 1&2 final merit list should be prepared keeping in view the reservation norms of the Government.

How to apply for Vidyasagar University M.Ed?
Application Process
Step 1: Go to the online portal of the university (http://onlineadmission.vidyasagar.ac.in) and fill the form.
Step 2: Complete the steps mentioned on the portal i.e. filling in the personal details, academic details, uploading photo and signature
Step 3: Pay INR 250 for Post Graduate & other Courses (except M.Phil.) and INR 350 for M. Phil. Programs through online mode of payment.
Step 4: Take the print out of the application form for further verification.

Vidyasagar University M.Ed Course Details
- The M. Ed curriculum is framed on the basis of the NCTE Regulations Norms and Procedures 2014.
- The Masters of Education programme is a two-year full time programme having four semesters spanning across two years. The maximum time allowed to complete the programme is three years.

- Each of the courses under each semester is awarded 6 credits upon completion.
- A total of 84 credits need to be gained for course completion.
Evaluation:
- Continuous and comprehensive assessment is an integral part of the evaluation system for the programme.
- Each paper ends with a terminal examination i.e., semester examination. The final evaluation is supplemented by continuous assessment.
- A dissertation is mandatory for course completion and needs to be done in the third and fourth semesters.
- An internship in the third semester needs to be completed which can include teaching or supervising students at the B. Ed level and a seminar or survey at school or college level.
