Ans. Yes, the Ph.D. Agriculture program is specifically designed for working professionals in the agricultural sector. The part-time mode allows you to continue your professional work while pursuing doctoral studies. The program duration for part-time candidates is 4-6 years (compared to 3-5 years for full-time). Ques. What is the entrance test pattern for Ph.D. Agriculture admission?
Ans. The Ph.D. entrance test is conducted for 90 minutes with a total of 140 marks. It comprises three components: Paper 1 includes Research Methodology (35 marks) and Research & Publication Ethics (35 marks), each with 10 MCQs of 2 marks and 3 subjective questions of 5 marks. Paper 2 is the Departmental Paper (70 marks) with 35 MCQs of 2 marks each. Candidates must score minimum 50% in the written test to qualify for presentation and personal interview. The final selection is based on 70% entrance test score and 30% presentation & interview performance.
Ques. Are there exemptions from the Ph.D. entrance test for Agriculture candidates?
Ans. Yes, candidates with valid scores in UGC NET/JRF, CSIR NET/JRF, ICAR NET/SLET, GATE, or GPAT are exempt from the Ph.D. entrance test. Additionally, candidates who have successfully completed M.Phil from a recognized university are also exempt from the entrance test. However, all exempted candidates must still appear for presentation and personal interview as part of the selection process. They are also eligible to compete for the Integral Research Fellowship (IRF) through the entrance test if they choose to appear.
