Ques. What is the difference between MVA (Applied Arts) and MVA (Painting) at Poornima University?
Ans. Both programmes are 2-year full-time postgraduate degrees under the Faculty of Design and Arts, but they differ in focus. MVA (Applied Arts) is oriented towards commercial and applied creative fields such as graphic design, illustration, advertising, multimedia, brand identity, and exhibition design. MVA (Painting) focuses more on fine arts, traditional and contemporary painting techniques, and artistic expression. Students interested in design-oriented careers in advertising, media, and branding should opt for Applied Arts, while those interested in fine arts, galleries, and art education may prefer Painting.

Ans. No, Poornima University does not require any national or university-level entrance exam for admission to the MVA (Applied Arts) programme. Admission is based purely on graduation merit (aggregate percentage across all years of the bachelor's degree). There is no portfolio assessment or interview required either, making it a straightforward merit-based admission process. Candidates simply need to apply online, submit their graduation documents, and secure their seat based on the merit list.

The total fee for the 2-year MVA (Applied Arts) programme is Rs. 1,29,000, which includes the annual programme fee of Rs. 60,000 per year (Rs. 1,20,000 for 2 years), a one-time non-refundable registration fee of Rs. 1,500, a one-time alumni and convocation fee of Rs. 2,500 (payable in the final year), and a refundable caution money of Rs. 5,000. There are no hidden charges. The caution money of Rs. 5,000 is fully refundable at the time of leaving the university, subject to no dues or damages.
Ques. Can I get a scholarship for MVA (Applied Arts) at Poornima University and how much can I save?
Ans. Yes, the SES (Shanti Education Society) merit scholarship is available based on graduation percentage. If you scored 85% or above in graduation, you can get up to 40% off on the tuition fee (Rs. 35,625 per year), saving up to Rs. 14,250 per year or Rs. 28,500 over 2 years. Additionally, NCC 'C' Certificate holders are eligible for 50% scholarship on tuition fee for PG programmes. Defence personnel wards and alumni siblings are also eligible for additional scholarships. Note that scholarships apply only to tuition fees and not to development or administrative fees.
