MPBOU DIM FAQs
Ques. Is the MPBOU Diploma in Management (DIM) recognised for government jobs and higher studies?
Ans. Yes, the DIM offered by MPBOU is recognised by UGC-DEB (University Grants Commission - Distance Education Bureau), and MPBOU itself holds a NAAC "A" Grade accreditation. This makes the diploma valid for government job applications and for pursuing higher education such as a BBA, MBA, or other management programmes. However, candidates should always verify the specific eligibility requirements of the job or course they wish to apply for, as some positions may require a full-time degree.
Ques. What is the difference between the Diploma in Management (DIM) and the Diploma in Business Administration (DBA) at MPBOU?
Ans. Both DIM and DBA are 1-year diploma programmes at MPBOU with the same fee of ₹9,000 and the same eligibility (10+2). The key difference lies in the curriculum focus. DIM covers core management theory subjects such as Principles of Management, Economic and Social Environment, Accounting and Finance for Managers, Human Resource Management, and Computer Application. DBA, on the other hand, has a broader business administration orientation. Students interested in management theory and HR should opt for DIM, while those interested in general business operations may prefer DBA.
Ques. Can I pursue the DIM while working a full-time job?
Ans. Absolutely. The DIM programme is specifically designed for working professionals and individuals who cannot attend regular college. Since it is offered through ODL (Open and Distance Learning) mode, there are no daily classes to attend. Students receive self-learning material (SLM) and can study at their own pace. Contact classes, if any, are held at study centres as per schedule, and the term-end exams are held once a year, making it highly compatible with a working schedule.
Ques. How are assignments and internal assessments handled in the DIM programme?
Ans. Each subject in the DIM programme has two assignment question papers, each carrying 30 marks (total IA = 30 marks per subject). Students must write their answers in their own handwriting in the assignment booklets provided by the university and submit them at their allotted study centre. As per the academic calendar for the January 2026 session, assignment submission is scheduled between June 14, 2026 and July 31, 2026. Students must obtain a receipt from the study centre upon submission.
Ques. What career options are available after completing the DIM from MPBOU?
Ans. After completing the DIM, graduates can pursue entry-level roles in management, administration, HR, finance, and operations across various industries. Common job profiles include Management Trainee, HR Assistant, Accounts Executive, Office Administrator, and Business Development Associate. The diploma also serves as a foundation for pursuing higher qualifications such as BBA, MBA, or specialised PG Diplomas. Entrepreneurs and small business owners often pursue DIM to gain structured knowledge in managing their businesses more effectively.
Ques. How do I get study material after taking admission in the DIM programme?
Ans. After completing the online admission process through the MPOnline portal, students are allotted a study centre near their location. The study centre distributes the Self-Learning Material (SLM) provided by MPBOU. As per the academic calendar for the January 2026 session, study material distribution begins from April 16, 2026. Additionally, MPBOU provides e-SLM (digital study material) on its website and learning platform (app.learningplatform.mpbou.in), which students can access online at any time.
