The nanoscience and technology course offers a favorable faculty-to-student ratio, promoting effective communication and learning. Led by knowledgeable faculty members Dr. Asha Srinivasan and Dr. Shankaramma, the department is a newly launched initiative in India. Students benefit from internship opportunities, such as those at NIT, where projects are evaluated during report submissions.
An exemplary internship at JSS focused on drug release kinetics and earned an A+ grade, thanks to staff support. The annual fee for the nanoscience course is 43,000 INR, which is fully covered by scholarships. Other departments have varying fee structures without merit scholarships. However, state scholarships are available, particularly aiding students from Karnataka.
