GITAM University Bengaluru Ph.D Physics: Fees 2026, Course Duration, Dates, Eligibility

Ans. The academic fee for Ph.D. (Physics) at GITAM Bengaluru is INR 30,000 per year, totalling INR 90,000 for the minimum three-year duration. Additionally, GITAM awards a Ph.D. Fellowship of INR 33,000 per month (for up to 3 years) to all full-time scholars, which far exceeds the annual academic fee. Application fee is INR 1,200.

Ans. Candidates must hold a Master’s degree in Physics, Applied Physics, Material Science, or an equivalent discipline with a minimum of 55 percent aggregate marks. Valid GReAT, GATE, CSIR-NET, or UGC-NET score is required; NET/GATE holders are directly called for an interview. Candidates with integrated M.Sc in Physics with 55% marks may also apply.

Ans. All full-time PhD scholars admitted to GITAM are eligible for the GITAM Ph.D. Fellowship of INR 33,000 per month for a maximum period of three years. Meritorious scholars may also receive the MURTI Excellence Fellowship of INR 40,000 per month. No separate application is required; the fellowship is awarded at the time of admission.
