Which college should I prefer for a "B. tech CSE": Guru Jambheshwar University, Hisar (Haryana), or Chandigarh Group of Colleges (CGC), Landran?

Guru Jambheshwar University, Hisar is ranked in 100-150 band in NIRF 2020 whereas CGC Landran is ranked in 201-250 band in NIRF 2020. Guru Jambheshwar University and CGC Landran both are good engineering colleges at par with industry standards. Admission: The JEE main 2019 cut-off for Guru Jambheshwar University CSE Branch was 53,885 rank for general all India students and 92,653 for home state general students. The cut-off for the same year at CGC Landran was 6,87,300 rank for all India general category students and 10,90,000 for home state students. Hence, getting admission into CGC Landran is much easier as compared to GJU Hisar. Curriculum: CGC is affiliated to Punjab Technical University which is a bit outdated. Guru Jambheshwar University, Hisar has better course-curriculum and practical facilities. This university is affiliated to University Grant Commissions (UGC). Facilities: CGC Landran provides good computer centre facilities. The institute has a dedicated networking centre which is beneficial for CSE students. CGC has better facilities than GJU. Non-academic facilities such as hostels, transportation etc are almost the same in both the colleges. Location: Location wise CGC Landran has an edge over Guru Jambheshwar University, Hisar as it is located on outskirts of Chandigarh and Mohali. Guru Jambheshwar University, Hisar is also urbanely situated but Chandigarh has better exposure as well as connectivity than Hisar. Infrastructure: Both colleges have good campuses and Infrastructure but CGC Landran has better campuses and facilities in terms of sports facilities, computer centres and libraries. Hostels and catering services are not up to that required level in both the Colleges. Placements: The highest package in CGC Landran was 35 LPA whereas in Guru Jambheshwar University was 6 LPA. But the latter had a better average package of 5 LPA as compared to 3.5 LPA of CGC Landran. The placement percentage of CGC Landran is 100% whereas the placement percentage is 80% for Guru Jambheshwar University. CGC Landran is visited by companies like Microsoft, IBM, HP, Google, Dell, Samsung etc and on the other hand, Guru Jambheshwar University is visited by Canara Bank, Birla Sun Life Insurance Co, Bank of India, Bajaj Allianz Insurance Co., Axis Bank, Andhra Bank etc. The maximum package offered is greater in CGC Landran but Guru Jambheshwar University, Hisar has better average placement package. Also, the placement at CGC Landran is 100% compared to 80% in Guru Jambheshwar University, Hisar as CGC students are hired by mass recruiters too which lowers the average placement package. Ranking of Guru Jambheshwar University, Hisar is better than CGC Landran. If all facts are combined then it is equally good to choose both the institutes for CS Engineering. The feature which should be given the most priority is the decision of prospective students.

Fees of the university is quite affordable for most of the people and it also provides scholarship for the needy

Checking of exams is really strict it is difficult to score good marks.

The year wise fees is approximately 76500 per year. Fees for Sc and St category is 2500 per year if their parental income is less than 250000. My experience at gju hisar

The year wise fees 80000 . The tution fees for odd semester is about 42000 and the fees for even semester is about 38000 and reservation like sc and st have to pay very minimal amount also very scholarship also here you can apply it if your family income is low

My first sem experience

Total fees I paid in first sem was 42500 and in second semester it was 38250 this is including all tuition fees registration fees admission fees this is fee structure for general students But there is a huge benefit for student from sc / st The only have to pay 2600 at the time of admission and there are some registration fees. Less than 10k per year veri affordable for them (only if there annual income less than 2.5 lakh)

GJU Hisar : Pros and Cons

•TUTION FEE: The yearly fee for btech is 80600. You have pay 42350 for first simister and pay 38250 for another simister. For SC/ST : you have to pay only 2600 for first simister and about 2000 for next one. For Tution fee waiver(TFW) category students: You have to pay 18000 for first simister and maybe 15000 for another one. (If you belong to SC/ST then for rest of your fee other than 2600 , you have apply to a scholarship on harchattarvratti site and after you fill the form the remaining fee will come in your bank account then you have to submit it to University) • HOSTEL FEE: You have to pay 12800 for hostel room. Mess charges will be according to your diet. eg, for lunch and dinner 40 rs. Per diet and for breakfast according to your items like 15 rs. For 1 prantha and 10 for chai and 10 for curd. Note: the course fees will be same for all btech courses and hostel fees will be same for every student.

I am payin 65000 curretly as annual college fees The fees is not increasing at present its same since 2022. There are multiple scholarships for every category of students just be aware of looking for them.

Real and actual review of gju hisar

Year wise fees for the btech of any branch is 70000 which is very affordable. There is a one fee waiver seat in every branch in this tution fee get half which is 35000 Talking about scholarship it is applied to all student who are sc and bc and get the benefit of scholarships like pms

GJU might just be for you...

The fees for my particular courses is 32500/semester and it hasn't increase in tha last three years, the registration fees is nominal that is paid during the admission and you need to give one semester's fees in advance before admission. There are quite a bit of financial aids as our university is an government all those policies are helpful they have helped a lot of my friends whom where not financially well. Ofcourse SC/ST have a huge fee waiver even despite there being TFW category.
