The university's admission process involves an entrance exam and an application submission at the department office. Candidates are ranked and admitted through counseling based on their exam performance. The BPT program requires passing an entrance exam on science and English from 11th and 12th grades. Exams are conducted yearly, with faculty providing adequate support but limited interaction. The annual college fee is around 32,000 INR, making it affordable for low-income families, with additional expenses described as very cheap.
Placement opportunities arise mainly in the fourth year through campus visits by companies like Mahindra and Tata. About 10-15 students secure placements annually in some departments, while BTech students have fewer placements, with 5-10 students placed last year at packages of 4-5 lakh INR per annum. BPT students complete a six-month internship post-graduation, mostly unpaid, in nearby hospitals. The placement cell notifies students about opportunities starting in their second year.
Scholarships are available based on merit and economic status, including a 17,000 INR scholarship per semester for toppers. SC/ST students pay only 350 INR annually, with further government scholarships, especially for girls. The total tuition fee is 44,800 INR per year, split into two installments. OBC students receive a scholarship reducing fees to 17,000 INR, with additional scholarships for BC and SC/ST students. Hostel fees range from 7,000 to 8,000 INR annually, with meal charges of 34 INR per meal.
A proposed 10,000 INR fee hike per semester was halted due to student protests.
