Academic Qualification

  • Undergraduate Degree: 2:1 (equivalent to GPA 3.0 to 3.7 on a 4.0 scale) in any discipline, plus GCSE English and Maths, 4 (C) or above.
  • Exceptional Cases: Applicants with a 2:2 (equivalent to GPA 2.6 to 3.0 on a 4.0 scale) degree may be considered if they have extensive and relevant work experience.
Work Experience
  • Applicants must have a minimum of 3 months' full-time equivalent work experience (400 hours).
Interview
  • Interview Requirement: All applicants must attend an interview; no place is offered without it.
  • Written Test: Applicants who meet initial criteria must complete a written test, and passing it leads to an interview invite.
  • Interview Panel: Interviewed by a social work lecturer, practising social worker, and someone with lived experience of social work.
  • Interview Period: Interviews typically take place between December and May.

Country Specific Requirement

  • Tier 1 Universities: 60% (2:1 equivalent).
  • Tier 2 Universities: 65% (2:1 equivalent).
  • Tier 3 Universities: 70% (2:1 equivalent).
