The Philosophy programme at Birkbeck, University of London allows students to follow their own philosophical interests and provides a sound platform for those wishing to proceed to more advanced research work in philosophy.
The MA is open to those with a first degree in philosophy wishing to progress to more advanced levels of study and also to those without undergraduate training in philosophy. If students did not study philosophy as an undergraduate, students take a special route through the programme.

- Statement of Purpose - This is an essay or any written statement written by the student while applying.
- Scores: Students have to submit their English language proficiency scores like IELTS, TOEFL, or other test scores and Successful applicants typically provide a score in the 50th percentile.
- Transcripts: Official transcripts from all educational institutions students have attended.
