  • The course will give a strong grounding in mathematical and statistical theory for finance.
  • Students will also learn about the theoretical study of economics (micro and macro) and financial accounting in the context of contemporary events and will be encouraged to progress practical skills in the field.
  • In the second and third year, students will have the opportunity to tailor learning to the area of interest by choosing from optional modules alongside the compulsory core modules.
  • Trading Room will give a simulated experience on the same information platform used by leading decision-makers in finance, business, and government.
  • This real-world insight into markets and trading will sharpen economic skills and can boost employability prospects.
  • Students have access to both Bloomberg and Refinitiv/Eikon self-study certifications and their online training materials.
  • These are available to students via campus and online.

Eligibility & Entry Requirement

The following are the entry requirements :

  • Normally 112 UCAS points from at least two A-levels or equivalent, including one A or AS Level of the following subjects: Mathematics, Physics or Statistics
  • Normally BTEC Extended Diploma at DMM in Mathematics, Physics or Statistics
  • Five GCSEs at grades A*–C including English Language plus Maths at grade B
  • International Baccalaureate: 28+ Points including a quantitative subject at SL or HL level
  • QAA Access to Higher Education course not normally accepted as applicants will need to have studied a quantitative subject at A or AS Level equivalent in Maths, Physics or Statistics
