The (Hons) Electronic Engineering programme is offered at the Bangor University.Ê

Accreditation is a mark of assurance that the degree meets the standards set by the Engineering Council in the UK Standard for Professional Engineering Competence (UK-SPEC). An accredited degree will provide you with some or all of the underpinning knowledge, understanding and skills for eventual registration as an Incorporated (IEng) or Chartered Engineer (CEng). Some employers recruit preferentially from accredited degrees, and an accredited degree is likely to be recognised by other countries that are signatories to international accords.

Why choose Bangor University for this course?

  • The School recently received a 96% student satisfaction rating (National Student Survey 2016).
  • We have a long history of expertise in electronic engineering and now offer a particularly rich range of course modules.
  • We have a strong research base in optoelectronics, communications, microelectronics, bioelectronics and materials science, and organic and plastic electronics.
  • You will be taught by staff who are experienced engineers and who maintain links with industry to ensure that courses reflect recent developments.
  • Students may be eligible for School of Electronic Engineering Scholarships of up to £1500. There are also other scholarships and bursaries available, including Drapers' Bursary. Contact the admissions tutor for more details.
  • We offer you the opportunity to spend a year working in industry between the second and third years. Individual projects are often carried out in collaboration with a company - providing you with advantages when seeking employment.
  • Our School is a lively community with well-equipped laboratories, networked computers using industry-standard software and its own reference library
  • This degree is accredited by the Institution of Engineering and Technology - you will gain exemption from the admission examinations enabling you to apply for membership and, in due course, become a Chartered Engineer. It is also recognised by the European Federation of National Engineering Associations (FEANI).
  • There is high demand from international employers for graduates who have completed this course.
