  • Bachelor of Engineering in Architecture and Environmental Engineering at the University of The West of England is a 4 years program.
  • It is an on-campus, honours program offered on both a full-time and a part-time basis.
  • This degree is accredited by the Royal Institute of British Architects (RIBA) and the Architects Registration Board (ARB). It gives students exemptions from RIBA Part 1 exams.
  • It's also accredited by the Chartered Institute of Building Services Engineers (CIBSE) as a qualifying first degree on the way to Chartered.
  • If students study on the four-year sandwich course, they will have to spend a year away from the University on a work placement after Year two.
  • BEng(Hons) Architecture and Environmental Engineering is a unique, award-winning course.
  • Students will explore architecture, passive design, environmental physics, environmental systems in buildings, and the effective use of energy and materials.
  • Attend regular presentations from visiting practitioners and guest lecturers is important for students so they can learn about industry challenges and best practices.
  • Examinations are held in January or May/June. Coursework is made up of essays, reports, surveys, design projects, and teamwork.
  • Students get the opportunity to work in small private practices up to large multinationals like Foster & Partners, Arup, and Atkins.

Eligibility & Entry Requirement

Academic Eligibility:

  • UCAS Tariff points: 120
  • GCSE: Grade C/4 in English Literature or Language and Mathematics, or equivalent. 
  • A-level subjects: Grade C in Mathematics, or grade A in Use of Mathematics. 
  • Baccalaureate IB: Students must have a minimum grade of 5 in Higher Level Mathematics.

Indian Student Eligibility:

Indian students are eligible to apply if they complete the following eligibility criteria:

  • Students should have a Higher Secondary School Certificate/Indian School Certificate (Standard XII) from boards such as CBSE/CISCE/WBCHSEB with 65% including grade C in at least five subjects.
  • Students with lower grades may be considered for entry onto a foundation degree.
  • Students should hold a 70% score in the English Language in Higher Secondary School Certificate/Indian School Certificate - Standard XII from CBSE/CISCE/WBCHSEB.

Along with the minimum eligibility requirements, international students hailing from non-English speaking countries need to prove English proficiency through IELTS/TOEFL/PTE or any equivalent test to get admission to this program.
