  • Bachelor of Engineering in Aerospace Engineering with Pilot Studies at the University of The West of England is a 3 years program.
  • It is an on-campus, honours program offered on a full-time basis.
  • This course is accredited by the Royal Aeronautical Society and the Engineering Council.
  • This course was designed with input from regional aerospace partners to give students the industry-relevant skills needed to become technical specialist.
  • Students will be taught in the new state-of-the-art School of Engineering, designed to revolutionize the way engineering is taught.
  • If students study on the four-year sandwich course, they will have to spend a year away from the University on a work placement after Year two.
  • Learning takes through lectures, tutorials, and seminars with a program of laboratory, practical, and project work.
  • Students will have the opportunity to undertake a flight test course in a real aircraft in their third year and will also work in group projects to such as the ImechE Umnanned Aerial System (UAS) Challenge.
  • Students are assessed through a mix of assignments, exams, continuous assessment, and group work depending on the module. In the final year, a project report and presentation will form part of the assessment.

Eligibility & Entry Requirement

Academic Eligibility:

  • UCAS Tariff points: 112
  • GCSE: Grade C/4 in English Literature or Language and Mathematics, or equivalent. 
  • A-level subjects: Grade C in Mathematics plus a pass in one of the following subjects: Biology, Chemistry, Computing/Computer Science, Design and Technology, Electronics, Engineering, ICT, Further Maths, Music Technology, Physics, Statistics. 
  • Baccalaureate IB: To include a minimum grade of 5 in Higher Level Mathematics and a Pass at Higher Level in one of the following subjects: Biology, Chemistry, Computer Science, Design Technology, Physics, Environmental Systems, and Societies.

Indian Student Eligibility:

Indian students are eligible to apply if they complete the following eligibility criteria:

  • Students should have a Higher Secondary School Certificate/Indian School Certificate (Standard XII) from boards such as CBSE/CISCE/WBCHSEB with 65% including grade C in at least five subjects.
  • Students with lower grades may be considered for entry onto a foundation degree.
  • Students should hold a 70% score in the English Language in Higher Secondary School Certificate/Indian School Certificate - Standard XII from CBSE/CISCE/WBCHSEB.

Along with the minimum eligibility requirements, international students hailing from non-English speaking countries need to prove English proficiency through IELTS/TOEFL/PTE or any equivalent test to get admission to this program.
