Academic Requirements

• PhD (Composition or Musicology): A master's qualification, or be working towards a master's qualification, or international equivalent. 
• Applicants without a master's qualification may be considered on an exceptional basis provided they hold a first-class undergraduate degree (or international equivalent) and/or can demonstrate evidence of a sustained and high level of professional accomplishment.
•  Applicants with a non-traditional background may be considered provided they can demonstrate substantial equivalent and relevant experience that has prepared them to undertake their proposed course of study.
• Applications must be supported by a portfolio of representative compositions.

Interview

Interviews may form part of the selection process. If required, interviewees based overseas will normally be interviewed by telephone or Skype, Zoom or Microsoft Teams.

English Proficiency Score

• IELTS 6.5 overall with 6.5 in all skills
• PTE 67 overall with no lower than 67 in all skills
• TOEFL 88 overall with R22, L21, S23, W22
• India (CISCE or CBSE) Standard XII/Senior School Certificate Examination- 75% in English
• India (Gujarat, Karnataka, Maharashtra, Tamil Nadu and West Bengal state boards)- 85% in English

Admissions Result Deadline

Applicants who receive a conditional offer will be required to submit all final results to meet their offer conditions by 1st August for September intakes and 1st December for January intakes.

Admissions Review

Applicants will be notified by email when a decision has been made and decision letters will be available to view and print by logging into the application. If there is a deadline by which applicants must accept an offer of admission or pay a deposit, this will be stated in the offer letter. 

Estimated Amount Required to Show

£31,524 amount on the day that you apply for your visa, i.e. the day you must show that you have held the following funds in a suitable bank account every day for a consecutive 28 day period for an academic year.
