University of Sussex Application Fee

Candidates applying for masters courses using the direct application portal do not have to pay any application fee. The University of Sussex has no application fees for the masters courses. Students applying to Sussex for undergraduate courses using UCAS have to pay an application fee of GBP 28.95 (INR 3,470). This fee is applicable for up to 5 course or university choices. Students can apply to 5 universities or 5 courses at the same university by paying this application fee. 

University of Sussex Deposit Fee for International Students

Self-funded international students who have accepted an Unconditional Offer for a taught Master’s course at the University of Sussex and require a UK Student visa must pay a £5,000 (INR 6.06 lakh) tuition fee deposit.

The deposit is paid after meeting all academic and English conditions and is required for the university to issue the CAS (Confirmation of Acceptance for Studies) for the visa application. The £5,000 is shown on the CAS as fees paid and is deducted from the total tuition fee when you join the university.

In addition to the deposit, students entering in the September intake must pay 50% of the remaining tuition fee at registration. The remaining amount is due in January. Students should budget for other costs such as pre-sessional courses, study materials, travel, and living expenses. 

University of Sussex Accommodation Cost

The University of Sussex is based in Falmer, just outside Brighton, offering strong transport connectivity for students. The campus is around one hour from Central London by train and approximately 30 minutes from Gatwick Airport, making travel convenient for international students.

Accommodation costs in Brighton can be on the higher side, especially for private rentals. Students usually choose between off-campus shared housing and on-campus university residences, with weekly rents varying based on room type and facilities.

• Private shared accommodation (off-campus): £124–£285 per week (₹15,000–₹34,000), excluding utility bills
• University-managed accommodation (on-campus): £123–£214 per week (₹15,000–₹25,000), with utility bills included

For most international students, on-campus housing offers better value, as rent includes utilities and removes the hassle of managing separate bills. Sussex provides a range of residence options to suit different budgets and preferences. Weekly rent of Sussex accommodation options are given below:

Among the more cost-effective and popular residences are Norwich House, Lewes Court, and Stanmer Court, with Norwich House generally being the lowest-priced option.
