You will be able to gain genuine practical experience of research apparatus through workshop and practical exercises throughout the course. If you select the four-year course, formal recognition will be given to your vocational year through the award of the MChem.

Chemistry (Medicinal Chemistry) focuses on deploying chemistry skills in real-world settings. You will have the choice of undertaking professional practice as an end-on placement in the fourth year Ð either a full-year research placement within an internationally renowned research group at the University, or a full-year industrial placement as an employee with one of our industrial partners. The University of Bradford will closely monitor your time with the employer. These placements add genuine graduate experience to a CV and provide opportunities for seamless transition into employment.

The placement is available in the MChem year with either research or industrial experience. We now offer unique Ôend-on Õ MChem overseas placements in partnership with Universities in Italy, Spain and France.

University of Bradford's courses have been developed in consultation with major graduate employers in the pharmaceutical, forensic, biotechnology and analytical industries to provide training in these major employment sectors for chemistry graduates, so our graduates should be well placed for employment in these and other fields.
