Course Curriculum

8

  • The difficulty level of my academics was high
all the assignments were uniquely created for which you cannot find them online or elsewhere
  • The academics overall were mixed with theoretical and practical, as we had practical sessions also.
  • These practical sessions were divided into 2.
  • 1st lecture where the professor taught us how to perform certain codes and get output practically and the 2nd lecture was to just practice for which there was an assistant professor present to help students.

Admission Experience

  • I applied to only 1 college as far as I remember to be honest but for London and Newcastle Campus both
got admitted to both, but went for Newcastle because of all the financial limits.
  • There were no colleges that rejected my application
  • I applied to one more college in Birmingham which I do not remember the name of unfortunately in which I got admitted as well but did not opt for the same I applied to only 1 college as far as I remember to be honest but for London and Newcastle Campus both

  • I applied to one more college in Birmingham which I do not remember the name of unfortunately in which I got admitted as well but did not opt for the same.
  • 1. Diversity in the college was amazing. British, Indians, Nigerians, Americans, Spanish etc were all in the same college made some amazing friends amongst each culture
    2. Fee's structure was not too high and was really reasonable
    3. I had my IELTS with 7.5 band as my score, so I got immediately shortlisted to this university
    4. overall admission procedure was extremely smooth; even when you reach the college, the day of enrolment was so smooth, and the staff made it amazing as you are already scared being it your 1st day in the university.
  • I applied to January Intake at the University
took 2 months to complete the entire procedure of admission to finish and apply for Visa to Travel
CAS is a document which is extremely important; without it, you cannot apply for VISA at all
  • I applied in October and my entire procedure of admission finished in December, as I had to Check the financial stability and all the documents and then applied for Visa in January

Faculty

10

  •  Every class had a different faculty-to-student ratio as every student had different modules which were selected.
  • Sometimes class used to be combined for a common lecture in a huge auditorium with 100 students as well
  • Sometimes there used to be only 15-20 students for a particular module that they have selected
  • The university had a separate faculty allocated just to prepare students for jobs and interview and update CV's

Campus Life

10

  • There were in total 2 campuses for Business and IT, Arts etc
  • Business campus was Huge
  • Due to Covid there were not much we could attend or organise
  • But University has Diwali, Holi Functions that happen
  • There is small restaurant in Campus named Habitat and please try their Margherita Pizza and Fries they are just Amazing!

Part Time Jobs

  • I have no idea regarding Teaching Assistant (TA), Research Assistant (RA), or Departmental Assistant (DA) positions
There are mental health calling system jobs on campus, fee's department jobs to contact students for a reminder and mostly telecalling.
It is a little difficult to find jobs in university due to lot of competition.
  • Per week, when your academics are going on, you are allowed only 20 hours per week!
  • But if the holiday period is going on (confirming the exact dates from the university office of start if holiday and end of holiday) you are allowed upto 40 hours max per week.
  • Hourly basis is 10-11 GBP per hour. It is easy to find part-time jobs in chains like burger king, MacDonald etc. I used networking personally to find jobs, so many of them on campus! Networking, LinkedIn. Please go through all the Chains websites. There jobs in Pubs and clubs as well. Royal Mail is really good ig you get in there as money per hour; I more than general and the job is not too hectic!

Placement

4

  • There are a lot of opportunities after graduating from the University.
  • There may be days where you apply for 50 jobs in a day and still get rejected in all 50; but this is something every international student goes through, As the competition to hire an international or their own people is high (for Visa mainly)!
  • But make connection through LinkedIn and keep following up with people and companies!
contact as many people you can for the same.
  • Graduate programs opens up in September so make sure you have all the relevant certifications and knowledge up to date

Accommodation

Off Campus
6

  • I found my accommodation through various Facebook groups for every city in the UK, you will have many Facebook group which you can connect to and ask if anything as per your preference is available.
  • I also used LinkedIn to connect to active Students so you can contact them more professionally about the same
They will guide you through multiple people (or friends) who has a room empty or are going to shift to a new house and need one more person to fill in!!!!
  • NEVER ever pay for accommodations well in advance just to get a place booked and there are a lot of scammers in the country, including Indians too, to get your money and ghost you!!!!
  • Always reach the country 10-15 days in advance, book a hotel room for those many days or Air BNB and then find and search for accommodations that people recommended to you online.

Exams

  • IETLS is required
  • All the academic documents are required including you SSC, HSC and UG documents
  • Statement of Purpose is required for every university you apply to (SOP - needs to be very professional)
  • There was no Interview scheduled as a part of my application.
  • Admission in this university was pretty straight forward without any complications.
  • All the Bank statements are required for Visa Purpose which needs to be thoroughly checked

Events

10

  • Indian Festivals and infact all other culture's festivals are celebrated by their own cultural clubs and amazing marketing is done for the same
Sports is a huge part of Northumbria!!
  • Swimming, Basketball, football etc are some of the sports for which they take you for inter college matches and stuff!

Fees

  • The Fee's for the university overall was 15,000 GBP.
  • I had paid 6000 GBP as my first year as I received a global scholarship of 3000GBP.
and the 2nd year fee's was 9000 GBP
  • Payment for the same was done yearly by me, but the university had options with 2 EMI's as far as I know from friends
  • During the 1st year, I was living in a shared house with 2 girls. My rent per room was 180 GBP and overall 250GBP monthly expense including bills (excluding groceries)
  • I tried to spend maximum of 100 GBP in groceries and extra expenses (coffee, breakfast, restaurant visits with friends etc) in a month as I started with my part time job in a restaurant.

Scholarship

  • I received a global scholarship of 3000GBP.
  • Global scholarship are common in every university depending on your eligibility and IELTS score, etc.
  • This 3000GBP was reduced from my 1st-year fee
  • So, my total fees were 9000GBP for first year but due to the scholarship, it was changed and reflected to 3500GBP as my first-year fee's
  • Many Students received this global scholarship, but there is one more additional scholarship, which is called something as Chairman scholarship, where you have to prove with a letter of why you are eligible to receive this scholarship and only very few students are given this if they become a successful applicant with a Flat 50% off on their entire course fees.
