What Students Say?
Likes
- A variety of interesting lessons and topics are covered throughout uni.
Dislikes
- Not many placements for JOMEC (journalism of media and communications) building courses.
I chose this university as it comes in the top 3 best universities around the UK for media and communications, also a part of the Russel group. Overall uni experience was amazing, learnt to become independent, had loads and loads of society events, and many on-campus opportunities to earn money and learn and get job experience.
Course Curriculum
Amazing amazing I honestly loved my course. So many good interesting modules taught me a lot of stuff, very open-minded broad lessons, loads and loads of research work, all help given on how to write an academic essay for assignments.
Exams
- I did CBSE so I just had to show my 10th and 12th board results - CBSE Grade 10th- 85% RBK GLOBAL SCHOOL; CBSE Grade 12th- 92% RN PODAR SCHOOL - Requirements: Yes, we had to submit a CV although it was so necessary since I had just gotten out of school and had no work experience. SOP yes, mention why you got into your course, how you started developing interest, and what have you done to get a liking towards your course. No interviews were taken. Just shared a bunch of certificates from Trinity College London, sports and extracurricular activities.
Placement
For business schools, there are many scopes but for journalism, they had internships and a few people from BBC Media came to college as a guest and gave lectures but had to apply for them online.
Fees
17000 pounds every year, if u achieve a scholarship you get a discount for 2000 pounds.
Faculty
Less Indian in media and communications, many Indians in business school. Overall the ratio would be 40-60, 40 being the international students and 60 being natives. Faculty good, very helpful, everyone is given a mentor, they’re pretty helpful too.
Campus Life
Many in-campus learning and work opportunities. WiFi is literally everywhere, each course building has its own library. Sports opportunities are varied, from netball to cricket. Many societies, ethnic, dance, music, cocktail making, many more.
Hostel
I only lived in private accommodations, slightly cheaper than student accommodations, private ones are bigger and more spacious, there are many affordable ones here. Bridge Street Exchange is a really good one. I paid around 7-8 thousand pounds for one year.
