The University of Sussex has announced an enhanced award value for its prestigious Sussex India Masters Scholarship, effective for the September 2026 entry. The scholarship is designed specifically to support talented Indian nationals pursuing Master's degrees, and now offers unlimited £5,000 (6 lakh) in tuition fee reductions. This is an increase of £1,000 (1.2 lakh) from the January 2026 entry.
What has changed?
The major change in the Sussex India Scholarship is the award value. The university will be offering a £5,000 (6 lakh) tuition fee reduction for the Indian nationals entering an eligible master’s degree in the September 2026 intake. However, for January 2026 entrants, the award value is fixed at £4,000 (4.8 lakh). Due to inflationary pressures on international tuition and living costs, the University of Sussex has increased this award value to maintain its appeal as a top destination for Indian scholars.

Important Considerations for Indian Students
After you apply for an eligible masters course, you will get an email confirming the scholarship after you receive an offer from Sussex. The scholarship details will also appear on your CAS Letter.
- There is no cap on the scholarship recipients. The university is offering unlimited scholarships.
- The scholarship is for self-funded students only. If a sponsor pays your fees, the scholarship will be cancelled.
- It is given as a tuition fee discount each year of full-time study.
- It does not apply to placement or study-abroad years, or if you need to resit a year.
- Dual nationals may need to show proof of Indian nationality (passport or government ID). If you apply for your Student Visa using a different passport, you may still need to show Indian nationality during your visa process and when entering the UK, because the scholarship appears on your CAS.
