De Montfort University (DMU), recognised for having one of the UK’s best careers services, has declared the commencement of graduate and undergraduate programs in its Dubai Campus. It is De Montfort University's first main campus outside of the United Kingdom. The campus will open in September, less than a month before DMU begins an intensive work programme for Expo 2020.
The university will launch a range of career-focused programs, which include- BA (Hons) Architecture, B.Sc. (Hons) Psychology, BA (Hons) Business and Management, Law LLB (Hons), B Eng (Hons) Mechanical Engineering etc. In the first year, the MBA (Global) will be the sole postgraduate program available.
Academic courses at DMU incorporate industry experience and employability into the curriculum, and the research work contributes to the professional learning of the students. The international applicants are required to prove their english proficiency with an IELTS score of minimum 6.0 for all the courses except Psychology BSc (Hons), that requires an IELTS score of minimum 6.5.

DMU offers 10 courses at foundation, undergraduate and postgraduate level through its four faculties-
- Faculty of Computing, Engineering and Media- Teaching and research range from cyber security and game programming to electronic engineering and radio production, and are constantly updated and improved to ensure industry relevance. De Montfort University Dubai Admissions
Applications at DMU Dubai are accepted up until the start of each intake subject to availability of places on the programme applied for. To secure a place on the program, all applicants must pay the first instalment, which is equal to 10% of the first year fee, as well as a refundable security deposit of AED 2,000, at the time of accepting the offer.

Applicants who require university visa sponsorship can either pay the full tuition fee for the academic year in advance or pay it in 4 equal instalments.
Visa Requirements
The UAE Student Visa is usually offered for the span of one year. It is renewable with an official proof of continuation of the studies of the student from the registered educational institute in the UAE where the student is admitted.
International students can apply for a UAE Student Visa only after they get enrolled in a registered university in the country. The basic requirements for the UAE Student Visa are listed below:
- A visa sponsor
- Passing of medical fitness test
- Approval of the relevant General Directorate of Residency and Foreigners Affairs
- Copy of admission acceptance from the university or college
- Clear colored copy of passport
- 2 Clear passport-sized photos of the student
- Receipt for tuition fees and visa fees
- Copy of the present visa if the student is already residing in the UAE
Along with the aforesaid requirements, university may request additional documents such as transcripts, CV, LOR, or certificates of extracurricular activities for the application process of a student visa for the UAE.

- Teachers – Teachers in Dubai are better at teaching topics as they have access to UK videos as well.
- Course Outline – Well-planned, with each concept explained in detail.
- Classroom – Very beautiful.
Dislikes
- Career Team – Not well connected with companies to help students get hired.
- Late Night Classes – By the end of the day, we are too exhausted as our classes run from 6:00 to 9:30 PM. By 8:45 PM, our brains stop functioning effectively.
- Cafeteria Prices – The cafeteria is too expensive for international students.
Campus Life
- One only (Dubai Internet City) campus is there.
- We have a huge library with few books only, as books are on clouds, a lounge area in that TT table, pools, a football table, a cafeteria area, a hall area, labs, and classes.
- There are many; some of them are Music festivals, dance competitions, faculty vs TT or faculty vs pools, valentine celebrations, career fairs, freshmen party, graduation party, seminals by external company, etc.
- For sport, there is a professional who teaches the student and campus offers a free shuttle bus to the sport area containing basketball, football, and badminton. There are approx. 12 km away from campus.

- Supportive Environment- The university has a great atmosphere with friendly students staff and teachers , our professors create a comfortable learning environment and classes are very interactive
- Affordable and Scholarships - Tuition fees are not very expensive, and scholarships are available.. I completed my MBA in around 14 lakh INR and got a scholarship of around 3-4 lakhs
- Practical learning - No written exams - only practical assignments, reduces student burden and enhances real world experience
Dislikes
- Too Much Free Time: The flexible schedule can lead to complacency and a lack of discipline.
- Limited Placement Support: The university provides minimal assistance with job placements, requiring students to network and find opportunities independently.
- Small Campus Feel: The three-floor building in the city center feels more like a corporate office than a traditional university.
Campus Life
- 3 campuses: Leicester City, UK Dubai , UAE, Kazakhstan
- In the campus, you have a cafe and recreation area where you have snooker tables and playstations and then you have a beautiful garden behind the university with the view of skyscrapers and some construction is still going on within the university for sports; they have collaborations with some ground where they have regular matches, competitions, etc. We also have a library and resting area where students can come have a coffee and relax.
- And since u ll have insurance on a student visa, all the expenses will be paid by the insurance . Just before going, you ll get an insurance card and list that which hospitals are eligible for your insurance . We have student elections as well for various roles and sports competitions as well in the field of volleyball, cricket , basketball , soccer, etc . And you also have cultural events on Eid , Diwali , Valentine’s Day, etc
Fees
- Fees keep changing each year; for me, it's around 59000 AED (around 14 lakhs) for the whole course. You can either pay it fully in one go, then you may get an additional 5 percent of paying in one go. I paid the fees in 4 installments of around 15000 AED, plus you have to pay for insurance and visa deposits. The visa deposit is around 5k AED, which is refundable. So overall, the payment structure is not that complicated. In the case of hostels, it's up to your own choice.
- For me, it's 2 lakh INR for the whole year for a single room sharing with one go, then you may get an additional 5 percent of paying in one go. I paid the fees in 4 installments of around 15000 AED, plus you have to pay for insurance and visa deposits; the visa deposit is around 5k AED, which is refundable, so overall the payment structure is not that complicated. In the case of paying in one go , I paid the fees in 4 installments of around 15000 Aed and plus you have to pay for insurance and visa deposits , visa deposit is around 5k aed which is refundable.. so overall the payment structure is not that complicated, in case of hostel it’s upto your own choice. For me, it’s 2 lakh inr for the whole year for a single room sharing with one more guy
