$33,440 /Yr
The Management of Fish and Wildlife Population programme is offered by the Swedish University of Agricultural Sciences. What importance do fish and wildlife have on the community? How can we handle fish and wildlife populations in a sustainable way?
By combining both theory and practical methods, this program provide students with a good knowledge in ecology, management and conservation of fish and wildlife, as well as knowledge of the laws and conventions both in Sweden and abroad. The programme includes both mandatory courses, a thesis and elective courses.
The programme covers different aspects of the management and conservation of fish and wildlife, including scientific theory and methods, as well as relevant laws and conventions at the international level. It includes obligatory courses, a Master?s thesis and elective courses.
The programme targets both Swedish and international students. It is offered by the Department of Wildlife, Fish and Environmental Studies, where approximately 60 researchers and PhD students actively conduct research in the fields of fish and wildlife management, human dimensions, and biological conservation.
Future
Jobs? Some of our students have gone on to PhD studies -- our very active and international research provides many possibilities, all the way up to launching a career in fish and wildlife research. Other students have gone on to active roles in today?s fish and wildlife management, finding careers in local, regional and national governmental agencies responsible for natural resource management, environmental non-governmental organizations dealing with conservation issues at the national or international level, associations of hunters or fishermen, landowner associations, private companies active in natural resource management (e.g. forestry and hydropower companies), and nature tourism enterprises.
