- Most faculty members are knowledgeable and supportive. Some professors mentor students well, help with projects, and guide us for higher studies and internships.
- The placement cell is active and provides regular training in aptitude, coding, and soft skills. Many companies visit for mass recruitment, which helps average students secure jobs.
Dislikes
- The university is very strict regarding attendance, dress code, and hostel rules. This sometimes affects student comfort and limits campus life freedom.

- Although events happen, cultural exposure and student-led clubs are limited compared to other universities, which affects networking and overall college experience
Course Curriculum Overview
I would rate the curriculum at MBU around 7.5/10 for relevance and 7/10 for comprehensiveness. The syllabus covers almost all core topics expected in the field, but there’s room for better industry alignment and practical focus.
Fees and Financial Aid
I’m currently studying B.Tech at Mohan Babu University. For my batch (2025–29), the year-wise fee I’m paying roughly is: Year 1: ?2,25,000 Year 2: ?2,50,000 Year 3: ?2,75,000 Year 4: ?2,50,000 These include tuition + development + lab + registration/admission but not hostel/transport. The tuition is the main chunk; registration/admission fees are usually ?2k-?15k one-time and a refundable caution deposit around ?5k-?10k. Semester exam, library & lab fees add small amounts annually too. For my SC batchmate through EAMCET, the tuition was lower (~?95,000 per year) with a government scholarship (~?70,000) credited directly, so their actual payment stayed low. On the management quota, senior friends are paying ?2.0 – ?3.0 L per year for the same course. Overall fees have increased compared with 2023–24; some courses like B.Tech CSE went from ?7.6 L total to ?10 L total due to hikes. Scholarships available: Merit scholarships based on AP EAPCET ranks/board marks – 100%, 75%, 25%, 10% tuition waivers (higher ranks/marks get higher waivers). PG merit (MBA/MCA) scholarships for top performers in entrance tests. For M.Tech, APPGECET rankers get 10% waiver + ?5,000 monthly stipend, and GATE qualifiers get ?12,000/month stipend. All waivers apply to tuition only and require good academic performance to continue.
Campus Life
My overall experience with campus life at Mohan Babu University has been structured, disciplined, and academically focused, with moderate opportunities for social interaction and extracurricular involvement. While the university is strict in terms of rules, it still provides a decent platform for learning, sports, and limited cultural exposure.
Hostel Facilities
I stay in the on-campus hostel at Mohan Babu University, and overall the experience has been decent but quite strict. The hostels are separate for boys and girls and are located within the campus, which is convenient and safe.
Admission
I applied to multiple colleges during my admission process, including VIT (AP), SRM AP, KL University, and a few local engineering colleges through AP EAPCET. I received confirmed admission from Mohan Babu University and a couple of tier-2 private colleges, while some higher-ranked universities either had higher cutoffs or much higher fees. I chose Mohan Babu University (MBU) mainly because of its strong infrastructure, disciplined academic environment, and relatively better placement support compared to other colleges where I got admission. While SRM AP and VIT AP had good brand value, their overall fees were significantly higher, including hostel and miscellaneous charges. In comparison, MBU offered decent facilities, good labs, and structured training at a comparatively manageable cost.
Faculty
The faculty-to-student ratio at MBU is moderate roughly 1:18 to 1:22 depending on the department. In core branches like CSE and ECE, professors are generally more accessible. In larger batches (like first year), one TA/assistant may handle tutorials, so one-on-one time can be limited. Faculty-Student Relationship & Approachability Most professors are friendly and willing to help outside class if you approach them respectfully. Some are strict about attendance and deadlines, but will guide academically if you show effort and ask queries.
Night Life
Nightlife at Mohan Babu University is very limited and quiet, mainly because the campus follows strict rules and fixed timings. The focus is more on academics and discipline rather than late-night socializing.
