Course Curriculum Overview
The course curriculum at Ashoka Women’s Engineering College (affiliated to JNTUA, Anantapur) is structured according to the latest R20 regulations, which ensures alignment with industry needs and modern technology trends.
Internships Opportunities
Formal Internship Structure & Policy Under the college’s regulation (R23) for the B.Tech programme: Students must complete two summer internships, either onsite or virtual — one at the end of 2nd year (community service project) and one at the end of 3rd year (industry internship). The college’s Industry-Institute Coordination Cell (IIC) coordinates internships, in-plant training, projects and industry visits. The IIC page shows for the academic year 2023-24: CSE: 4 companies, 119 students got internships. ECE: 5 companies, 105 students. CE: 2 companies, 57 students.
Placement Experience
Students typically become eligible for campus recruitment starting from the 6th semester (i.e., during their final year) at AWEC. The institute’s Training & Placement cell also emphasises early training (aptitude, mock interviews, GDs) starting from earlier years so students are ready by the final year.
Fees and Financial Aid
Training and placements fee:8000 Library fee:1000 University fee:1850 Registration fee:2000 Tution fee:43400 Hostel fee:(1st and 2 year:62000) (3rd and 4 th year:74400) Mid exam fee:100 Dhobi fee:2500 Sem fee:750
Campus Life
The annual cultural event E?CUBE is held each year around early to mid-April (e.g., April 8-12 in 2025). There is also an event called SAACHI tied to Women’s Day (March) where achievers are honoured. Student reviews mention freshers’ party, farewell, women’s day celebrations, and a tech-fest (around September) with coding/quiz/project expo.
Hostel Facilities
The girls’ hostel (“HR Women’s Hostel”) is on campus, designed to provide a supportive study-friendly environment. Rooms are furnished with beds, racks/lockers, almirahs, fans, and study tables. Bathrooms: Some rooms have attached washrooms (especially the “Attached” or “Deluxe” room types). In other cases there are washrooms shared or common. One review mentions: > “In the Delux type … there will be a washroom with geyser and two slots for charging and six students per room.”
Admission
When I was selecting engineering colleges, I prioritized faculty quality, infrastructure, placement support, and learning environment. After evaluating multiple options, I chose Ashoka Women’s Engineering College (AWEC), Kurnool because it provided a safe, supportive, and technically strong environment for women pursuing engineering. The college is affiliated with JNTUA (Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University, Anantapur) and approved by AICTE, which ensures that the curriculum and academic standards are consistent with state and national regulations.
Faculty
Profile & Qualifications The Department of Electronics & Communication Engineering lists the following among its faculty: Dr. R. Naveen – Professor & Principal The institution appears to have a strong, qualified faculty base, including PhD-holders and experienced professors. Faculty development and keeping up with current technologies (e.g., AI) are being addressed. Student feedback is broadly positive regarding faculty approachability and teaching quality
Interview Experience
At Ashoka Women’s Engineering College, admission to B.Tech programs is primarily based on merit and entrance examination scores rather than GD or personal interviews. ???? Entrance Exams Accepted EAMCET (AP EAMCET) — Andhra Pradesh Engineering, Agriculture and Medical Common Entrance Test — is the main gateway exam for admission to engineering courses. Students can also apply under management quota or lateral entry (for diploma holders) through ECET. Admission is governed by JNTU Anantapur and APSCHE guidelines.
Night Life
After classes (which typically end by late afternoon/early evening), many students use the time to go to the library, gym, or hostel common-areas for study or socializing. Reviews mention the library and cafeteria stay accessible for some time into the evening. Gym and sports facilities are available, so some students unwind by exercising, playing indoor/outdoor games, or just relaxing. For pure “hangout” time: Students talk about using the hostel common rooms, mess/snack hours, campus lawn areas, or the canteen.
