What Students Say
Likes
- Really liked the environment, it's calm and collective.
- Faculty here is much more helpful than expected.
- Students are all pretty chill, atleast the ones I've met.
Dislikes
- The college is undergoing some construction so it looks kinda pale.
- The college doesn't have a proper attendance system and that's why most students don't come to college at all.
- College could really use a renovation, colorful buildings and maintained grounds can make the college look more good.
Course Curriculum Overview
Course is pretty good, I did BA to then give UPSC exams and I think everything in the course is completely relevant to UPSC, so I did made a good choice in this matter. Teaching method of teachers is basic and good which I like, if they can incorporate some teachnology then It would be much better. Frequency and timing of exams is decent, Timing can be changed a bit as in 2nd year my exams were held from 11am to 2pm and it's hard to give exams during these times when it's really hot outside. Apart from that everything is good.
Internships Opportunities
Not too many or too big companies have offered jobs as our college isn't that big but yeah it does has a lot of potential to grow considering the fact that it's in the middle of the main city.
Fees and Financial Aid
I took admission in Lal Bahadur shastri PG College of Jaipur in 2022. I chose to do Bachelor of Arts (BA) and the fees in my 1st year of colleged was 15,100. In the 2nd year it was 14,850 and then in the final year it was 15,500. Apart from this for BA/BCOM Annual fees for 1st & 2nd sem is 17,300 with caution fees being 200. For 3rd & 4th sem the fees is 15,500 with caution fees being 300. The college also provides other courses like BSC, MSC, BCA,BBA,B.LIB.SC., M.COM, MA etc. Overall it was a decent experience for me being part of LBS college.
Campus Life
Not too many fests are held in our college which is not good I agree on that. In case of library the library is good, it has a wide variety of books, books of all fields and also the ones related to the courses that You can lend. I lend 2 books myself. Sports and extracurricular activities are also okay, If college works just a little more to encourage students more students would come forward and participate and sport tournaments. I personally don't know much about any student run social groups.
Admission
I applied to this college because of one reason that I've already mentioned before, because of it's peaceful environment. I checked out other colleges but they were either too far, too costly or too crowded. LBS college was decent in all aspects and really suitable for me. Although I would've taken admission in other colleges like POORNIMA UNIVERSITY cause of my interest and passion in football but I didn't as I had finance problems. The admission process is pretty simple, not too harsh conditions. Admission experience was good, it was quick and on point as it should be.
Faculty
I think the Faculty to Student ratio is okay considering the fact that many students don't come at all. So it's good and really workable that way. Personally I liked my teachers of History and Public Administration, they know a lot and they actually genuinely want their students to learn and grow. They don't teach too fast and they try their best to make sure every single student gets the point. And yeah there is not faculty that I disliked. Everyone was good to me. And for exams When I joined there was still an option to choose Yearly or semester, I personally chose yearly, I had exams once in a year and 2 papers for each subject, therefore a total of 6 exams and additionally in my first year there were exams of English, Hindi and Computer science which were compulsory as provided by RU. You just have to pass the compulsory exams only once. But now as far as I know the Rajasthan University has made all exams of almost all courses to be held on semester basis, so no more yearly exams. Exams are pretty easy if You study well for just 2-3 months You can get decent marks while actually learning things. In my college as far as I can guess i think only around 25 to 30 percent of students fail, I'm not sure though, this figure may be way off.
Night Life
Tthere are some pretty good places around the colleges where you can hangout with your friends. Many cafes and decent fast food places around the college. But yeah no night life in the college, around the college yeah it's good but I haven't experienced it personally.
Other Applied Colleges
SS Jain Subodh PG College | Bachelor of Arts [BA]
The college was too crowded, too many students per class which I did not liked
