What Students Say
Likes
- Chill environment. Attendance is not compulsory. Respectable staff. Fairly good campus with their own stationary store, canteen, hostel, and a nice library.
Dislikes
- Lack of interesting events. Almost no one attends lectures. Barely 15-20 students present out of 100
Course Curriculum Overview
Knowledge about the buisness world made me pursue this degree. The curriculum is well desinged and does give you a lot of exposure to the real world applications. More practicals for Tally would be appriciated. The frequency and timigs of the exams arefairly good and provides ample of time to prepare for the exams properly.
Internships Opportunities
TCS, Wipro, Capegemini, Persistent Systems, ICICI Bank are the most common recruiters. The stipend has not yet been revealed but the salary packages range from ?2.3 LPA - ?6LPA. I may not be clear about the the projects yet but I will be updating them.
Placement Experience
Students can apply for internships after completing year 3 or 6th semester ( 8 semesters in total as per NEP guidlines). There is a placement cell. Placements here are well enough. There are several companies like Wipro, TCS, Capegemini, Persistent Systems, Infosys, IBM, Tech mahindra, ICICI Bank, Deloitte and KPMG. Highest was from Deloitte an KPMG offering upto ?6 LPA. Average was from ICICI Bank offerig 2.3-2.4 LPA. About 70% of the students get placed. The rest opt of higher education. I'm currently a CA student as well. I want to pursue an MBA later and go for product management.
Fees and Financial Aid
Dayanand College Of Commerce, Latur, is a reputedinstitution offering commerce-focused education at an affordable fee structure. The college provides courses like B.Com, BBA ,BCA, M.Com, catering to students interested in business, finance, and managment. The faculty is well-qualified and experienced, ensuring that students recive quality education. The fees ranges from ?1,235-?21,530. SC students get ?10,000 scholorship. Good academics, but limited activities and average placements.
Campus Life
There aren't much of the events. It only happens once a year. There's traditional day, mismatch day, sports day, and annual gathering. There is a huge variety of books and journals available at the library and a nice place to sit and study. There are interacting whiteboards on every classroom and 2 computer labs. There are a lot of extracurricu;lars here like NCC, NSS, Youth festial etc. Yes there are sports and music clubs run by the students which are nice to rewind from all the studies.
Admission
I failed to get an engineering or medical college and I had connections to this college, hence I took admission here. I do not think I'm the position to compare the colleges for 2 different streams. Yes i did get rejected due to low score in entrance exams and boards. Students from Science and Commerce background can apply. Eligibility to get in this college for B.Com is 80% in boards ( for commerce). BBA/BCA admissions are done through CET. Cutoffs for these have not yet been revealed. Overall it is a smooth and easy process with minimum interruptions.
Faculty
The faculty-to-student ratio is quite good. They are very friendly and approchable to students. Faculty of commerce is perhaps the one I liked the most. The best faculty is for economics. The faculty i disliked were for Tally. They are a little too fast paced. There are 2 types of exams ( excluding the class tests). Internal and External. Internal exams are worth 10 and 20 marks depending on the subject and are coducted by the college. External exams are university exams conducted by the university. they are worth 50 and 100 depending on the subject. Considering the last semester's data, only about 1/4th of the students had cleared all of their subjects. The rest had 1-2 subjects back mainly being statistics and accounting All the subjects are fairly relevent except IKS.
Interview Experience
There were no interview or tests required. The admission is done solely on the basis of your score. Boards scores are considered for B.Com and all the B.Com specializations. For BBA and BCA, CET scores are considered.
Night Life
There is a gym and a cafeteria available. Night life is very calm and peaceful. You can roam around in the campus. Libraries are available till 10pm. 12am during the exam season. There seems to be no time restrics although I may be wrong. There's a lot of food places and shops to roam aroud at night. it is fairly safe.
