Course Curriculum Overview
My dad works in rehabilitation industry so I had an idea about this and I loved biology during school time . This is a course which focuses on movement rather than medicine . Along with movement, compassion and empathy is also a necessary factor in this course. This curriculum at this college can't actually prepare you to real life applications since this hospital is an eye hospital and exposure is less for this specific course. For me personally a lot of improvements should be made in the course curriculum such as real life treatment of patients provides more exposure to the students that will help with their practical knowledge. Students should be provided equal opportunities in sports events that they're invited to be a junior physio. Frequency and timing of exams are quite okay and less pressurising with adequate intervals.
Fees and Financial Aid
So yearly it costs around 80,150 rs for BPT(bachelor of physiotherapy) and there are 2 types of seats such as management and LBS seats. You can either directly contact the management through the phone number given in their website or you can register in LBS. On the first year of college you've to pay 90,000 rs ie,10000 rs extra as caution deposit. Through the following years you only have to pay 80,150rs per year. There is no fees such as development or lab fees, however for SC/ST category students they provide with scholarships with a deduction in fees. They have to pay only 30000rs per year. LBS and management admission students had the same fee structure ie 80150 but SC/ST and OBC students have to only pay 30000. Premetric scholarships are so also available and students can apply for scholarships every year in which they can earn upto 30000rs
Campus Life
Since the college is confined to the hospital environment there's not much campus life at LIMSAR. But there's specific occasions like LIMSAR fest, Onam and Christmas celebrations. They're mostly held during August- September months. Library provides a lot of medical related books and it has been so helpful for us during lab exams. Classrooms have smart class facilities with projectors and all. Football for boys and Throw ball training is available for girls at LIMSAR and we got second prize on 2022 for football during interzone games. College union is an active club which helps students.
Hostel Facilities
Hostel rooms provide with a bed , cupboard ,table and 2 chairs. There's study area outside the room. Meal quality is ok. Contact sisters and they'll provide with the registration process and details. Locality address : holy trinity hostel dharmagiri angamaly
Admission
I didn't apply to any other colleges it was direct management entry for me . I chose this college for it's academic excellence throughout the years. I didn't quite apply to any other colleges this was my first choice. There's no type of specific exams for this course you just have to apply on this website for paramedical students ie known as LBS. Or you can enter through management seat based on your religious group.
Faculty
The faculty-to-student ratio is 10. Faculty is really friendly and approachable, you can clear your doubts anytime. So top 1 on my list is Manju ma'am we call her Manju mummy cause she always had a dearly approach to us all. Her classes were so much precise and good. Rest of the faculties like Praveen sir, Chinchu mam,Rakhi mam ,Reji mam are all excellent faculties of LIMSAR. There's not even a single faculty I don't like. I mean even if they scolded us it's because of their responsibility to make us right whenever we're going through the wrong path so it's all good. So each year we've 3 internal examinations,on first internal that's out of 50 marks we've to score atleast 50% to pass . Second internal is just the same but for the third internals score is out of 100 with a lot of portions. Followed by a model examination and then university final examination.Along with the theory examination there are practicals every year.During first year in our batch 50% of students failed to pass either one or two subjects but in 2nd yr it got better and third year with one arrears.
Night Life
If you're staying at pg or at a liberal hostel you'll have a good night life or if it's the college hostel it's like the worst . Students have to get in hostel within 6 pm since it is managed by nuns. Famous hangout spots might be : - hungry town - burger lounge - desi dumplings
