Course Curriculum Overview

4

The main reason that made me choose this course is that it provides me with a dual degree. And its really intresting to study Criminal laws. The cirriculam provides a solid foudation in legal theory and practice. Learning is enhanced with practical training such as moot court sessions and internships. Exams conducted are definitely not that hard.

Fees and Financial Aid

Government law college, thiruvananthapuram is the best of the government law college in Kerala. It is the only government law college which provides BA. LLB. Yearly fees amount is just 1500.Might have to pay around 10000 during admission. Students of economically weaker sections can apply for E grants scholarships. Government law colllege tvpm has one of the best law libraries in Kerala. Students can get access to Supreme court cases' site and many other sites useful for law students.

Campus Life

4

Various celebrations are made such as "Piravi" during Kerala piravi, Onam and christmas celebrations, Diwali celebrations, Pride month programmes etc.. This college has one of the best law libraries in Kerala. It provides you with newly updated articles and journals and books of various authors. It also gets you the access to various sites like SCC online and Manupathra.. There are not many sports oppurtunities available in this college. But people who love arts may get oppurtunites. Our college has many clubs and groups like NSS , Bhumitrasena, NCC etc..

Admission

I haven't applied for any other colleges or courses as I wanted to study BA.LLb in a Government law college and I had a good rank in KLEE for that. For students who would like to get in this college must attend Kerala Law Entrance Exam( KLEE) and must secure a rank below 350( cutt off for General Category). Once you got into this college, they will provide you with orientation sessions of one or two weeks.

Faculty

Most of the faculties here are Ph.d holders. They are renowned for their expertise in different legal areas. They groom us for different competitions, seminars like MOOT competitions, MUNs etc.. One of the best teachers I met here is Dr. MANJUSHA SUSAN , my English literature professor. I really liked the way she interact and groom the students. This college provides Unitary LLb course and Integrated five year BA.LLb course. For intergrated five yr course they are 10 semsters in total( 2 sems per yr).

Night Life

4

This college is renowned for its natural beauty..It definitely has a calming peaceful nature. It has many swings at different spots..its really fun to be there with ur dearones. This college has a cafeteria providing breakfast , lunch and snacks. Students can be in the college at any time..however the hostel will close at 9.30pm. I have experinced beautiful evenings where students would sit together and have fun..singing songs together, playing games.. etc.. As this college is in the capital city , there are many outside places to hangout.. Believe me, if you want a peaceful city life, u must come to Tvm.

The moot court competitions and debate competitions are conducted many times in a year which are very useful for a law student.I wish if there are more interested college competitions then it would be more useful.Usually there is a gap of six months between two exams and during that period students get enough time for preperation.

Placement Experience:

The college does have a placement program. It's mainly to companies which have a law department. I don't specifically know the companies but I've heard it offers great exposure. The companies include Technopark companies, UST etc. The package starts from 20000 per month and maybe above according to our profile. My personal loan after the couse is to practice law as an advocate and then go for the judgeship programe.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The exams usually conducted in two parts as semester ways. But due to the current covid situationno exams has been conducted upto this date. I think some times they probably go for a online exam. Because in kerala the current situation is bad. In the whole India kerala is facing more challenges. The exams are more difficult to pass. The criterion for passing the exams are really hard. Probably the passing average is less compared to other colleges.
