Course Curriculum Overview

3

The curriculum decided was very accurate for those who are planning to give Civil Judge exam. But there were some subjects of law that was needed as a whole/single subject and there were some sunbjects which need to be thought early. There were mid-semester exams and end-semester exams. During the last 2 years there were external exams as well.

Fees and Financial Aid

My fees was 70,000 per year. The tutition fees was Rs.59,500 and Development fees was Rs. 10500. There were several one time fees which include Caution fees of Rs. 5000, Enrollment fees Rs. 1000, Convocation fees Rs. 1000. Since i am from a general catergory that's why i didn't know about the fees structure of those belonging to SC/ST/OBC.

Campus Life

2

To be honest there was no campus life during my year of study. There were no cultural events and other events in the college. This was the thing that we as students miss in the ccollege. The only good thing for me is that the college is in my hometown so it was easy for me to go to college. But there were so many students that were not from indore and i think that it was a wastage of time for them.

Admission

The admission procedure was very simple. They only required 12th pass with 45% and relaxation was given to SC/ST/OBC. Ans yes i gave CLAT but there was no luck as i didn't get onto any Nlu. My rank was not enough to get a seat in Nlu.

Faculty

4

The faculties were chill and frank and was easy to approach. During my time there were not plenty of teacher in the college. Personally i loved the way Shikha Maam thought us but unfortunately she left the college. The students can approach the teacher anytime in the college and through phone also. They provided good insights about the subjects and competitive exams.

Only the law chambers advocates and Bhopal High Court top lawyers are the ones who provide us Internships as well as jobs. Most students have secured pre placement offer from them and that is how the placements of JLU School of Law are. Good to see that placements in recent past have increased and now law students are offered 40-50k starting salary offers.

I want to pursue LLM and that is my plan and also to ensure that I get it NLSIU or NLU Delhi. Our university placements are good but for law as for us there are hardly any placements. From our department only 20-30% students get placed as of now but hopefully this will be better in years to come.

Some corporate which are anyways at the campus for hiring students of other streams like the TCS, HUL, Nestle and others are the one who offers us corporate law opportunity with their organization. Initially the lawyers are the least paid employees and therefore placements aren't as significant.

Campus placements at JLU begins early as law is a 5 year course but from fourth year final semester, we are allowed to find placements in our own. Or there are some corporate houses which comes to our campus to recruit and we can apply there as well.

In my department we get placement opportunities in the final year or we can say 5th year. My college gives placements in high ranked companies but as of now I'm in 4th year so I don't know much about that. The highest package we can get here is 5lpa and the minimum is 2 lpa. My plans after getting degree is litigation.
