Remarks

Well. You can't really write any negative reviews about your college, can you? But if I could find one, I'd definitely write. It's a great place to learn. Hone your skills, sharpen them. You can't really complain a thing about BJB Autonomous College. It's too great am institution to be a part of. And am very much sure many people will agree with me on this. If you're thinking of taking admission in any college in Odisha, BJB is the place to go. It will be worth your time. I assure you that.

Course Curriculum Overview

4.5

The course is quite vast. You have to study well to score well, everyone knows that. During my tenure, we had 6 semesters. Three years of graduation. 2 semesters per year. We also had internals or mid semesters before every main semester exams. In fist year, you will have one Hons paper, one elective, and English as your compulsory subject. In second year, you will have one Hons paper, second elective and alternative English paper as your third paper. In final year, you will have two Hons papers and one compulsory EVS paper. Electives and Hons can be chosen at the time of filling up of online application forms. Whereby you can choose the subjects from the various given subjects as per your comfort level.

Placement Experience

3.5

Yes. BJB college does provide placements. Many reputed companies come to our campus to recruit students who are highly talented and are smart. Though, I never sat in any campus placements (laughs). I don't know why I didn't but I'd urge you people who are looking forward to taking admissions here to do sit in the offline campus placement drives. You never know you might find a big deal here. Online campus placements are done too. Though I don't have much idea about that. Sorry folks.

College Events

4

Well. It's a government college. So on all occasions, the college is closed. But, the students Union do celebrate festivals and occasions like Republic Day, independence day, saraswati puja, Ganesh puja. Even students play holi in the campus. Flags are hoisted on Republic and independence days and sweets are distributed among students. Eating and prasad Sevan arrangements are made on festivals. Mainly Ganesh puja. Functions and sports day are held in the college only if the elections are held. Since it's a government college, no elections means no functions and extra curricular activities. Fresher's party are also organised by seniors of each department. While the students of arts stream arrange it within the college campus, the commerce students are allowed to do so outside the campus i.e, in hotels. Seniors welcome the freshers with love. They perform for the juniors on the stage. Similarly, farewells are also held in the final year before your final semester which is done by the juniors as a mark of remembrance.

Fee Structure And Facilities

Since it's a government college, the fee structure is very feasible. You don't have to pay the big bucks to get admitted here. Whatever little amount you pay is worth it because of the quality of the education provided at this institution. It's worth it!

Fees and Financial Aid

There are a number of scholarships awarded to the meritorious and the economically backward people by the government. The government provides free laptops to the meritorious students. It also gives stipends and other scholarships to the backward class people which is a highly commendable job! Not more than a handful colleges do that so it's plausible.

Campus Life

4

Like I said, since it's a government run college, if elections are held in a particular year, students can witness annual sports day and functions. Else, they can't. But, the university does organise inter college competitions in various games like cricket, football, hockey, badminton, basketball, volleyball, athletics too. And BJB takes part in it. It's a champion team in many games which includes cricket, badminton, basketball, hockey and football. But to get into the team, you must hustle hard and earn your spot. Then only you can represent it. Also, the students Union do organise inter stream cricket tournament once a year. It's conducted fairly. No foul play. Similarly, other competitions such as quiz, debate, dance competitions, essay writing etc. are also held by the union. Again, these are only held if elections aren't cancelled for the current year. The college has a mammoth playground. It's clean and many reputed cricket tournaments are held there. Every year. It has a basketball court too in the administrative block.

Alumni/Alumna

You need to build good rapport with seniors if you want to make the most of your graduation life! Isn't it? They can stand by you in your thick and thin. Only if you have a good relationship with them. Most of the seniors are quite friendly at BJB. They're ever ready to help their juniors in any way possible. So don't be shy. Just make the move and they're ready to help you. The alumni association does conduct get together functions once a few years. Depends on the core body's availability and other factors.

Admission

Well. Almost all the degree colleges in Bhubaneswar, Odisha admit students on the basis of the marks secured by them in 12th standard. And, BJB Autonomous College is the premier college of Odisha. So everybody wants to be a part of it. So was I. The admission process is simple. The higher you score, the better are your chances. So study well, score enough to get admission here. The admission process is done offline entirely. There are 2 stages primarily named, first and second selection. The students who have scored higher, are allowed to take admission in these two stages. After that, if any seats are left, they do vacant admission. If still any seats are left, they do spot admission.

Faculty

4.5

The faculties at BJB are excellent. They're very talented, energetic and always look forward for a challenge. They work their ass off to make sure that students are clear and thoroughly understand a particular topic. They stick to the course of studies provided by the university. They are very active in classrooms and interact often with the students. They make learning fun as they're quite friendly so that no student feels an inferiority complex. And being a student, if you want to make the most of your learning, teachers have to be friendly. That makes learning easy and you can move forward at a steady pace and score well too. Students who have personal doubts can go to the department and clear their doubts too.
