Course Curriculum Overview

4

I was told the college followed the curriculum as same as IIMs so i was hooked from the start. During my MBA , a total around 30-35 subjects were taught and i believe almost all the subjects are now relevant to the world we live in. The industrial visits that was periodically held was very helpful in knowing and understanding how a giant company operates. The faculties was also pretty hands on helping us get the internship at companies which were relevant to the topic we chose on the summer intern. See for me I believe MBA meant learning outside the box mainly and the faculties there taught us from the very beginning of our semester to do exactly that.

Internships Opportunities

4.5

My internship was at State Bank of Imphal, Imphal Branch. I was offered the role of evaluating loan applicants. It was an upaid internship. The internship period was for 20 days. My topic was primarily to understand the role of banks in facilitating various types of government sponsored schemes and how the schemes helped the economy.

Fees and Financial Aid

Well the fees for each semester were 13-14K. Then there were those exam fees, course registration fees, add that and the total cost would be around 20K per semester. Keeps in mind that this was for General Category students. The OBC and Ewc/s had a slightly lower fees as compared to the gen, but wasn't that drastic. If you fall under the EWC, there are many government schemes that you can avail.

Campus Life

4

See functions like fresher's day are all prevalant among colleges everywhere and I personally don't believe in all this. The main functions and ceremonies that intrigued me was the Corporate Leader's Conclave which were held annually. Here esteemed business owners were invited and students were given the opportunity to interact with them which was a great help in understanding the business dynamics. There were also guest talk which were held weekly, there many prominent individuals were invited especially individuals from the business sectors. As for library book encompassing from business to marketing, HR, operations. You name it and there was it. We were also provided with access to International libraries like Oxford, Cambridge. Amenities like college mail id, wifi were provided too. There weren't many option on the sport aspect, there was an annual sports meet were various games were played among the other departments of our institute and thats it.

Admission

To be honest this was the only college i chose and applied for too. This was mainly because i had a few acquaintances from their previous batch and i saw pretty sold on from the start to go to this particular college from their words. For MTU, if you have given any exams like CAT and your percentile was good the admission was directly given. And for those people like me who had'nt given the said exam we had to go a rigorous admission process, the first round was the written exam. The pattern was as same as any CAT exam and after that was the GD and Interview round. All of these aspects were taken as a form of 100 marks and the top 30 students were given the opportunity to apply to the college and the remaning were sat at the waiting list given that you score well

Faculty

4.5

The ratio would be around 1:5 i believe. The faculties were much approachable and quite frankly you could go to their home to clear a doubt and they would happy welcome you doors wide open. The communication classes that i had during my MBA were a lifesaver. Being an introvert, i tended to keep words to myself which was a big noo and ever since the classes i have been able to talk even to a crowd of people with ever slightly stuttering. The Finance classes were also quite excellent. Even if you may not be from a finance background, the faculties teaches you from the very foundation. The course curriculum is based of IIM so i'd say its pretty relevant. So following the IIM patterns you could imagine, exams are also quite tough but you yea just follow through what are being taught regularly and you shouldn't have any problem passing the exams.

Interview Experience

5

For the GD we were given a bowl of topic which were unknown to us and we had to pick a topic from there. For me I still remember our group was to discuss on any fast food chain. There we discussed about Mc donalds for briefly 10-15 mins and that was it. Basic questions like why i had chosen MBA after my graduation, if i had any business experience were asked. Admission process are as follows 1- We had to apply it online for the entrance test 2- Test were held within 1-2 months 3- Results were out within a month of giving the entrance exam I watched videos online for the GD and interview, for the writern part i prepared the oswall book of quants, reasoning
