What Students Say?
Likes
- The teaching method is also better, but there still is a scope for improvement. The faculty makes us understand through ppts, their own notes
- Lectures and buddy lectures that will help you to learn from well kwoned people in their field and your alumni lectures.
Dislikes
- Even though the faculty provides all the notes and everything, but still because of the university syllabus there still is less content to study
- The placement cell needs some improvement and also much better companies needs to come here for bjmc placement. There are hardly any company for journalism.
Course Curriculum Overview
My liking for journalism made me choose the course, but I think the studio was the first space which really made me excited to join this college and be a part of this course to learn. The syllabus definately needs an upgrade and lot of things needs to me added. There is a gap between exams you get enough time to prepare for exams and even faculty is available 24/7.
Placement Experience
From 4th semester you can start looking for internship and campus placements. There are various companies like ndtv, aajtak, advertising companies and other such visit the campus but there hardly are few companies for proper journalism. Average package was only 15lpa while highest was 23 lpa. The number of students that got placed is only 30%. I want to peruse my masters in public relations.
Loan/ Scholarship Provisions
My academic fee for bachelor's in journalism and mass communication is 129000 per year. The fee structure keeps on changing for all the courses. During my application form, I paid a sum of 1100 rupee and then later paid administration fee 25000.
Campus Life
There are more than 12 clubs in our college and a total 4 big events happen every year in our college. The books and journals available are of good quality and easily accessible. You can borrow them whenever needed. There are assignments and projects kept for reference purposes also. Our faculty even uses projectors which are present in every classrooms.
Hostel Facilities
Hostel facility is extremely good. even the food offered in the mess is good quality made with hygiene served warm and clean utensils. Even our faculty eats in the mess. There is a mess committee where students preference is given priority. Complaints are heard immediately and solved. Wardens are supportive and helpful, there are proper facilities in our hostel. You will comfortably live here. Hostel process could fet a little hectic because they ask you to submit lot of papers.
Admission
I applied to various colleges but couldn't get into them because my eligibility criteria didn't met, or failed to give the exam on mentioned date or sometimes didn't liked the infrastructure, course or saw reviews weren't up to the mark. The studio was so well equipped. I did got rejected as I didn't met their eligibility criteria for example my cuet score didn't made it to the cutoff. The eligibility criteria for this college is your percentage should be above 75%. You should fill out an application form and then an interview call is made.
Faculty
The faculty is extremely supportive and you can definitely go to them during any problem. Our faculty is understanding and they will help you until you have a solution. You can easily approach them for any concern, query regarding anything. They even answer you after college hours. Our hod sir, mr. Anil Kumar Nigam, he is very supportive and understands your problems and helps you guide, my fav is also Narayan sir who is our studio incharge, he is the most easy person to talk to, discuss problems, learn and ask for honest opinions.
