Course Curriculum Overview
I have always been keen to work in the medical sector, and I was very disparate to know how medicines are made and how the pharmaceutical industries work that's why I choosed pharmacy as a career. I am not satisfied with the current curriculum and academic knowledge that is given to students because pharmacy industry demands application of the subjects you studied and in academics they never teach you this kind of stuff. If i have to improve something in the course curriculum than definitely I will try to decrease the theory part of academics and try to increase as much as application subjects. The two semesters occurs in gap of six months within a year. The two sessional are there in gap of 3 months in one semester.
Placement Experience
Placement is there in the college and you become eligible in 8 semester to give interview for campus placement. There is basically not much companies come in these college but there are companies which comes like workhart which basically offers jobs every year. The highest package is nearly to 6 lakhs per annum after b.pharmacy and average package is 2-3 lakhs per annum. The students getting placement doesn't have require a specific percentage for placement but the minimum percentage/CGPA required to sit in campus interview is 7 CGPA and above. I am planning to do M.pharmacy and will see job opportunities after that.
Loan/ Scholarship Provisions
The Annual fees of the college for the General category is Rs 120000 per year and the fees is increasing yearly. The fees for the OBC category is Rs 68000 approximately and for the SC category the fees is nearly Rs16000. The general category gets various scholarships schemes in which some are private and some are given by government. The general category students gets EBC scholarship which has amount of Rs 54000 which is a government scholarship. Apart from that there are also various private scholarships like Sima khatib,S.R Jindal, Reliance and many more which students can avail on the basis of their academic excellence.
Campus Life
There is Annual festival in the college which is called YB Fiesta in which different activities are performed. There is a excellent facilities available in the library in which there are not only books for the students but also free wifi available. The books are easily accessible and there is a good system of books replacement and returning. The classrooms have a projector on which teacher teaches to students and there are also many fans in the classroom for the comfort of the students. The sports part of the college is interesting there is various competitions organised by sports committee. There is cricket tournament named YBL in which there are 4 teams competing for the trophy it also has auction similar to IPL. The students can play various sports outdoors or indoors both facilities are good in college. There are various groups or committee made for students like anti-aging committee, YB Club etc for betterment of the students.
Hostel Facilities
There is hostel within the campus where I stay it's a good hostel with basic facilities available. In one room 3 students can stay and Room consists of 3 beds,3 study tables,3 cupboards for each student. The mess food is a issue though, there are two mess in the campus near hostel one veg and one nonveg but both mess doesn't give quality food. The registration fees of the hostel is easy tou have to just fill a form of registration. The annual fees for the hostel is Rs 19000 and for the general category students there is a scholarship available for hostel students Punjab Rao which gives them nearly 30000 per year . The hostel is good and affordable as they give you installment for the fees payment. I don't know that much about locality rooms but there are some friends which stays on the rent of Rs 2000 per month.
Admission
I firstly applied for the government colleges but didn't got any of them due to my low percentile(86.87) in the cet examination than I applied for the good private colleges in Maharashtra this college was always on that list and it is not that far from my home town that's why I decided to get it . And these college has great rank in NIRF ranking nearly 67 all india rank and it is accredited by NAAC with a A+ score so it's been good college overall and one of the top pharmacy college in Maharashtra.
Faculty
The faculty to students ratio is good in the college, and there is a special mentor given to each student. The mentor helps the students in various ways in academic as well as personal problems. There are many good teachers in the college I cannot name specifically one but all are great in teaching and interaction with the students. Although there are also some teachers which are rude and doesn't teach that well. There are two semesters exams in one year and two sessional examination in one semester . Means in total there are 8 semester exams in 4 years. In each semester exams there is two sessional examination of 30 Marks. the semester exams consists of 75 marks. The difficulty level of sessional exams which are Taken by college is comparatively high to semester exams. There are many students who fail in the semester examination although they get the chance to clear it in next semester exams.
