What Students Say
Likes
- I really like the efforts of the Training and Placements Cell. The way and the approach and the training provided to the students in and outside the college.
- The engagement is very good actually. The people of VIIT are very friendly and kind. They provide a teacher friendly environment, and a student of VIIT have access to all the department's faculty and knowledge.
- The faculty here are well experienced and have excellent way of teaching skills, especially the professors here simply amazing. They maintain the perfect balance between the normal and digital teaching.
Dislikes
- The infrastructure can be improved a little bit and there are few issues with the transportation department of the college.
- Few computer labs are not so good in providing the latest tech in the computers like they feel so dizzy and slow sometimes.
- Some rules make me feel like this is a school and not a college. Like the weekly exam, college timings and uniform.
Course Curriculum Overview
The curriculum here provides good opportunities to build skills and plan a good path for my future.Syllabus needed to be imporved a bit and almost everything feels good. The Teaching methods are also good. They use the technology well and frequency of timing of the exams are also good. The level is not so difficult and is manageable by the merit, average and dull students too.
Placement Experience
Students are eligible for the campus placements from 3rd year of the college. There are companies like TCS, AWS,Infosys and many other companies and all the companies offered various offers. Highest package is above 20 LPA i guess and avg oackage is around 2.5 to 4 LPA. More than 50% of the students get placed every year. My plan is to do Masters in Cyber Security.
Fees and Financial Aid
I have joined in The Vignan's Institute of Information Technology, Visakhapatnam in the year 2022 in CSE - Cyber Security course through the EAPCET exam. There are 3 categories of students - Management quota, B-category and Counselling quota. Management quota and B-Category students Fee Structure- depends on Negotiation. Tution fee for Counselling quota students as per 2022 - Rs.52,000 per year (varies for each year) Registration fee - Rs.3000 per year (varies for each department) Everything varies each year.
Campus Life
Annual Fest - Yuvtarang in January. Technical Fest - Vista in September. More than 10,000 books are available in the central library and journals too. Digital classrooms are available. Technical,Sports,Musical events are conducted and All the festivals from all the religions are celeberated at VIIT. There are many student-run socail groups like the GDG,YUVA,ALGOZENITH,LATHA MANGESHKAR CLUB and around 16 clubs are present at the college.
Admission
I have choosed this college because i've heard that VIIT is a great institution with many years of experience and learned about the college and felt right and just joined in it. I have applied for many other colleges here but VIIT feels good compared to the other institutions. There are 2 types of admission process - through Management Quota and through qualifying for EAPCET exams.
Faculty
I have no idea about the faculty-to-student ratio but I can say that the relationship between the faculty and the students is pretty good. The faculty here are very friendly and we can ask any doubts to anyone. As iam from the Department of CSE, I like my HOD Dinesh Reddy sir so much. He is just excellent in managing the department and his knowledge is just incredible and he has dealt with the Applied Cryptography subject in our 2nd year and he is pretty amazing. Along with Dinesh sir, there are many professors and assistant professors like Pandit Samuel Sir, Sarika Nair ma'am, Swathi Ma'am and many others who are just really good and I belive they provide a quality education to the students.Everyone are good but as usual there are few problems with the faculty too, with very few of them and that's not a matter at all. Almost everyone manage to pass the exams from a class and the course curriculum is enough relevant .
