Remarks

The college is best in the region and very well reputed.

Entrance Preview

Khalsa college amritsar is second best college for agriculture graduation after punjab agriculture university. Plus the college is well reputated among agriculture officers in punjab. And the staff of the course is also well experienced majority are PHD holders.

Course Curriculum Overview

4

The course curriculum is good actually very easy. The agriculture subjects are very easy as compared to other courses. The faculty of agriculture is very friendly with students. The course has 8 semesters which means 2 semesters a year. And the curriculum teaches almost every subject like economics, animal husbandry, statistics, farm machinery etc.

Internships Opportunities

No, in my course they don't provide internship. For other courses i cant say anything about it. But they are thinking to provide internship to agriculture students in their final semester.

Placement Experience

3

Placements all based upon your luck. Sometimes the companies came and some time not.Banks like Axis bank and other private banks also Came to the college regularly they provide monthly salary of 25000 monthly. Last time ITC came to college and provided 15000 per month to which no student opted for that job.

College Events

4

Events is college held regularly. These events include annual college fest in which each department of the college participate in different items. Winners are then chosen for university youth fest that is GURU NANAK DEV UNIVERSITY YOUTH FESTIVAL. Also sports meet held in month of february every year.

Fee Structure And Facilities

Fees structure is quiet feasible and less expensive than other colleges. The course fees of agriculture is 48000 annualy. It decreases with each yea The fees is taken in installments like they will take 32000 in first semester and 16000 in next semester.

Fees and Financial Aid

No scholarship is provided. Only less fees is taken from Sc category students for rest the fees is same.

Campus Life

4

Campus life is good is you stay in hostel but for day scholars its not that amazing. Talking about gender ratio its almost equal. Extracurricular activities include Ncc and other sports programes. And singing, music, debates, quiz competition, theater items all are there.

Hostel Facilities

4

Hostels are well maintained and two of them are newly built. Hostels have the basic facilities but they not provide the internet. Bike parking is there in every hostel. Car is not allowed by any student in the hostel. Rooms wary from dormetry to single room. And the mess food is average . When the student is new he or she enjoys the food but with time the food will appear boring.

Alumni/Alumna

Alumni network is very strong alumni included singer amrinder singh, ranjit bawa also Baldev singh dhillon current VC of PAU also graduate from khalsa college. You can google it. And about senior students they are really helpful.

Exam Structure

Exam structure is very flexible. In course exams there are 8 questions in every exam and the choice of choosing 5 questions is there each question carry equal marks i e 10 marks for each question . In this way exam is of 50 marks but the problem is the student has to write long answers almost 4 to 5 pages in order to secure 8 to 10 marks.

Admission

The college has entrance exam for agriculture honours course and the Seats available for my course was 80 earlier but now increased to 240. More than 2000 students annualy appear for the entrance exam. After getting the rank in exam. Merit list is made and the students called according to the merit list for counseling

Faculty

4

The faculty is well experienced in their fields. Majority of them have PHDs. and they are very humble in nature and they teach well in classes. The faculty listens to the students carefully. But there are also some professors which is arrogant but doesn't matter they teach well.

Placements are not better but as compare to other colleges it is good according to the less fee structure .The highest salary package is offered with 8LPA and the lowest is 3 LPA. If you are getting admission for the placement so this is not the college for you.
