Overall college life at sinhagad is good as you get great company of friends.However college managment needs to improved.
Entrance Preview
I gave NATA as i wanted admission in architecture course.The selection criteria for architecture consists of 50% 12th marks and 50% Nata score. my overall score was 127 I got admission in this college in First round itself.Sinhagad college is in vicinity to my home so it would be easy for commutation and hence i opted for this college.Also the review of sinhagad college was quite good
Course Curriculum Overview
Architectural course offered by Pune university is quite diverse and well appreciated.It contains right combination of theory and practicals.It focuses more on practicals and helps students to cope up with stress of work by cultivating the habit of working for long hours.
Internships Opportunities
Yes,our college provides internships.Internship is part of the curriculum in 4th year iitself.stipend depends on the architectural firm selected. One can get 6000 for 6 months in a small firm to 12000 per month in well known firms.
Placement Experience
Placements and job opportunities depend solely on the thesis project in last year. Famous architects come to review the thesis project and thereby offering jobs to the candidates.Architects such as Hafeez Contractor have come previously to review the work of fifth year students.
College Events
There in annual exhibition in which work by the college student is displayed.There is also a workshop in which architects from different interest are called to guide upon.Students get hands in experience in contructions workshops conducted at the college.
Fee Structure And Facilities
Fee structure is quite expensive.Annual fee is around 90000.Plus every year there is one compulsory national trip.International trip is optional though.Stationary and other expenses are also very high and requires it quite often.There are additional site visits and students also have to go for market surveys in and around the city which increses commutation expenses.
Fees and Financial Aid
yes there are scholarship facilities available.But they are for the students of reserved category such as OBC,ST etc.Also the families whose annual income is less can also apply for the loan.
Campus Life
architecture is female dominant industry.Number of female to male in our college is high.There are some excellent extra curricular activities such as karandak which includes competition between different colleges in varied genre.campus life is chilled out.One can easily spend a day or two in college campus
Hostel Facilities
Hostel facilities are good and safe.Hostel is in vicinity to the college and in the same campuss itself which makes it easy.Hostel food is average.But one can always depend upon it.And if not there are innumerable food joints in the college campus itself.
Alumni/Alumna
Seniors are quite helpful when it comes down to guiding their juniors.One can always seek help from them.
Exam Structure
there are total 10 semesters.Each semester has a theory paper and submission practicals as well.There is external jury at the end of each semester in which external examiner appointed by the universiity comes to the collge.One has to present all the work done in that sem and is marked accordingly.Theory papers are quite easy.But submissions are hectic.One has to work day and night to cope up with this amount of work.
Admission
Admission for architectural curriculum requires one to appear for NATA.admission criteria requires 50% nata score and 50% 12th score.In NATA exam one has to prepare for mcq's and practice sketching as well.One can make multiple attempts in NATA.Maximum NATA score is considered for evaluation.
Faculty
College faculty is also good and well experienced.Some of the faculty members are from CEPT and SPA delhi and other renowned colleges.Their experience proves to be a boon for the students.They also encourage students to participate in different competitions and workshops.,seminars etc.Friendly junior staff also helps freshers to cope up with the working environment.
