My review as a BTINE student

The course provides comprehensive teaching regarding various aspects of nursing. The curriculum provides knowledge from basic to advance level. Education of nursing includes human anatomy, care for sick, prevention of illness, etc. Teaching is done with the help of various A.V.aids. Plenty of clinical exposure provides a medium for more effective learning. Students can practice procedures in the lab for better learning. We have 3 main exams throughout the year that are mid term exam, pre final exam and final exam. These exams are based on the syllabus covered in class and the clinical experience.

The college offers internship in the last 6 months of the third year. The students are posted in Deenanath Mangeshkar Hospital for internship. The teachers are available for guidance. The students get to perform various procedures. They get to assist doctors in procedures. The students are posted in different areas for better clinical exposure. The students get to work directly under the registered nurse. Although no stipend is offered.

The third year students after completing their internship are eligible for campus employment. Deenanath Mangeshkar Hospital has been providing placement opportunities to the students of this college. The students can also opt for other hospitals. The course provides better employment opportunities. The percentage of placement is around 100%

The fees for GNM course is 80,000 Rs per year. Many scholarships are made available by the college for the students. The college provides campus employment. Intership facilities are also available in Deenanath Mangeshkar Hospital. No stipends are given.

Despite of the hectic schedule the college provides various opportunities for relaxation and refreshment. The college organises a college week. Each day of the week has a theme. Various competitions are arranged for the students. Apart from the college week various other activities and programmes are also arranged. The college provides opportunities to the students to participate in inter college competitions. Sports day is also arranged by college. The college participated in inter college sports competition. The college has a cultural and sports department that looks after the particular events. These departments are handled by student representative and teachers. Every year elections are held for selection of the student representatives. This enhaces sense of responsibility, team work, leadership qualities among the students.

The eligibility of the course is 10+2 with 55% in science, arts, commerce or vocational courses. No NEET exam is required for GNM. Admission starts from june. Application forms can be collected from the college. Reservation benefits available for SC category students. The teaching faculty here is very good. Almost all of the teacher's have completed their masters, many are or have persuade PhD. The faculty to student ratio depends on the strength of class, but usually not more than 20 student are handled by the teacher. Time to time counseling is done by the teachers. Students progress is recorded in their cumulative. The faculty is available for the students. The faculty encourages students to take part in various activities inside and outside of the college. Teachers are always available at the clinical area for guidance. Its easy to approach the teacher regarding any doubts and other problems. The teachers uses disciplinary actions when required. The teachers uses adequate teaching materials to make learning effective.
