Misrimal Navajee Munoth Jain Engineering College Chennai, BE, Computer Science and Software Engineering
Reviewed on Jul 10, 2018

Remarks

The best college for the students who don't have any other college option including those who cannot afford high fees for colleges.

Entrance Preview

I was a biology student previously. But when I didn't get any college based on neet it was late for me to opt for other commerce colleges. Then I chose to apply to any engineering college because at that time the engineering colleges were not started and some conflicts were going on in-state over engineering and medical seats. So I asked my friend for the suggestion, then he told me to join the minimal navajee munoth jain engineering college because it was the last college to take admission. Including that I am a Jain student so they give first priority to Jain students first.

Internships Opportunities

I don't have a proper idea about that but our seniors tell that there is no internship offered in this college.

Placement Experience

2

The placement is very worse and the job is offered in some unknown companies mostly and the salary package offered here is very less, the highest is 6.5 lakhs per annum in the history of the college. Last year the highest was 4 lakhs only. Placements are offered to students who have any arrears.

College Events

3

The events celebrated in this college are to the good level as compared to other colleges. Every branch has their own symposium organized separately on different days. Also the women's day, sports day, annual day etc are celebrated separately. Overall the events section is good.

Fee Structure And Facilities

The fees are affordable for all students. It's feasible. Management quota has higher fees than the government quota students. The fees come in the range of 1 - 1.25 lakhs per year including tuition fees, mess food fees, etc and excluding transportation fees.

Hostel Facilities

2.5

Hostel facilities are ok. But freshers don't have a television in their room. There are two mess - Jain and non-jain. Jain mess food is good but non-jain is lower than it. Hostel students get the same food for dinner and for breakfast they get only two bread butter set.

Alumni/Alumna

No, they are not. The senior students are in some high-class attitude about themselves which juniors can't find.

Exam Structure

It is typically based in anna university-based pattern - choice based credit system. They have two unit test, one model test and then a semester. For all semester the same pattern is followed. For practical subjects, we have just a model and semester. This is how the exam structure is.

Admission

I filled my admission form (jain student's admission form) and they called me for counselling after one week. When I went for counselling they just asked whether you are a jain student? I answered yes and then the next and the last question was which course do you want? I answered computer science engineering and they just told ok and I got admitted in the college in the CSE branch.

Faculty

2

I think the faculty is the reason for the worst results including the worst placement from this college. The faculty members are even under literate than the toppers including the average ones in programming languages.

Placement Experience:

Students can join job drives from the 7th term. Many firms visit the campus for jobs and offer roles in tech and other fields. The pay varies by firm and role. EEC has a good job rate and gives help for job prep. After my degree, I plan to work in the tech field and grow my skills.

Placement Experience:

Students are open to campus placements from 2nd year onwards. There are many companies who visit such as Delloite, Accenture, Cognizant, TCS, Amazon, NatWest, Nokia, etc. Highest package offered is 42 lpa and lowest is maybe 2-4lpa. Around 90% of students get placed here. My plans is to get a job through campus recruitment. Currently I got an internship through campus recruitment in Cognizant so the recruitment is quite nice here.

Placement Experience:

One thing I really need to appreciate at CIT is its placement training program. The placement team conducts regular sessions on 1. aptitude 2. coding 3. communication skills 4. group discussions and 5. interview preparation which helped me feel more confident during placements. The trainers were friendly and always encouraged us to improve our skills step by step. They provide continuous guidance and feedback throughout the training process. Mock interviews and one to one assessments helped me to understand my strength and weak areas and I work on improvements . These sessions not only improved my technical and communication skills but also boosted my confidence . The placement training team played an important role in preparing me for career opportunities and industry expectation

Placement Experience:

Chennai Institute of Technology is an instituition that truly prioritizes student career growth . The placement cell is exceptionallu well-organized ,consistently connecting students with reputed companies across various industries. What makes CIT stood out is the quality of its training staff. They focus heavily on communication , technical knowledge and competitive preparation ,align students with what top companies expect ,and contiuosly push us to improve and meet industry standards. Their structured training helped me to clearly identify my strengths and work on my weak areas, which made a huge difference during interviews and boosted my overall confidence. The department faculty are equally commnedable ,knowledgable ,approachable and genuinely invested in student career. Overall CIT is an excellent choice for anyone focused on building a strong and sucessful career
