- There should be some campus hikes or atleast an environment for the students like internships, where students can get some insights about real-time scenarios.
- Sometimes there are more leisure hours between the classes of our department. That can be utilized in a good way.
- There should be some tours or picnics in our department.
Course Curriculum Overview
I want to become a lecturer in Political Science so I thought this could be my first step towards my future. The college faculties are good, very knowledgeable, friendly. Their behaviour is also good. All the teachers try their level best to teach us quality lessons. The course is much of theory but their teaching style make it so much easier to understand the topic and perform good in the exams. Our faculties are very well educated. They are normally posted in our college through government. So they have already 5 to 6 years of teaching experience. They have very good understanding how can a low or average student can understand such a difficult concept or portion. As it is Bachelor's there are total 6 semsesters and each semester is consists of 2 exams one is Internal exam and another is Semester Exam. The passing mark for Semester exam is 30. The questions are moderately difficult or intermediate level so you can score a good mark if you have good understanding of the topic.
Fees and Financial Aid
As it is a Semi-Government College, the fees is cheap for a middle class student. Also there are 2 to 3 scholarships are provided by college and Odisha Government, so that it can cover 60-80% of the college fees. One of the major scholarship name is UG Merit Scholarship. According to this scholarship, students can get 5000 every year for their UnderGraduation. I am sad to say that our college don't provide any campus hike or internships. But with the help of the faculties, you can be able to prepare for the future placement opportunities.
Campus Life
Our college organise it's annual fest each year in the month of December- January. It'll be a 2 days grand event. Students from all the departments as well as Junior College students also participate in this fest. Our college got a average library having all the department books as well as some journals and novels. There can be a chance you don't get the desired book. But our department has a small library in it and it have all required books for our department, so you can access those books also. Our classrooms are big as well as upgrading with advanced technologies to be a smart classroom, thanks to Odisha Government. Our college organise annual sports day, Prize Ceremony day and Cultural day where students as well as some well known stars take part and make it memorable. Our college got NCC, NSS in it, so that our students can take part in national level competitions and make the college proud. Our department also organise some events time to time.
Admission
The eligibility i.e. the cut-off to apply for the Political Science for my year of batch was 58 percentage. After you been shortlisted for the college in SAMS portal you will get the application form for the admission process in the college office itself. There isn't any entrance exam to take admission. You just have to score more than the Cut-off marks. The admission procecess took place temporarily in a hall to deal with the crowd of students and many things took place with pen and paper so it was taking much time to handle a single student's application but i didn't take much time for me. Hardly the total time for my admission process was 1.5 hours or less. It could also be faster by making it happen digitally.
