GDC Indore, insights.

The course is well defined and it contains enough practice and pratical learning. I choose this because dentistry is a good secure medical profession. Batch size is small, we have 61 students in our class which are taken care by 2-3 teachers per subject depending on the requirements. All the teachers are highly qualified and best names of the town. Exams are on time and you need to study enough to pass in few subjects sucha as anatomy which requires more learning time. There is no garuntee that you can pass, there is no surety of that. You have to study to pass in both pratical and theory exams. Both of which are easy if you study properly.

Government college of dentistry according to my knowledge does not provide internship opportunities to other students. They only provide internships to the students studied there which is compulsory internship with stipend.

Fees hike is very unlikely as it a government college therefore the fees is within affordable range. There are various scholarships on the basis of reservations and economic status of the family like medhavi yojna, etc. we get into compulsory internship after final year which is quota based and lasts for 6 months-1 year and provides stipend.

The infrastructure is average. Although we are getting 2 new buildings constructed, still the infrastructure remains average because the patient flow is high and classrooms are very few 2-3. There are no clubs. We have an annual fest at the end of the year which contains sports events, literature and art events along with an annual function. Overall there can be improvement in social life of college, we also do lack a canteen!

NEET was the entrance exams. I secured 536 marks which made up 96.69%ile. Therefore was allotted GDC indore and wasnt able to secure a mbbs seat. MP state counselling is carried out by MPDME website. The admission process should provide a little more time in between submission of documents and should start on time. Our admission was delayed by 3 months due to the Covid lag.
