Honest feedback of SBS Ahmedabad by a PGDM professional.

I chose PGDM in Marketing and Communication, and the entire curriculum was pretty cool and in some cases better than other specializations. The course curriculum seems to be relevant to the job market in Gujarat. If I have to talk about my mentors, most of them were visiting faculty members who run their marketing agencies or are connected with industry happenings every day. This gave me a reality check on what skills and expertise I needed to have when it came to the job market of now. Talking about the faculty-to-student ratio it is approximately- 1:20 The term exams are divided into 2 parts in a year. They are mostly conducted in December and April. To be honest the exams are not that at all difficult if you know your basics well.

The placements of the college are decent. I would suggest not to expect huge packages from SBS, as being a tier-3/4 college the companies that come to campus offer decent roles and packages. And every year most new companies visit the campus. Along with it, the average package might also change every year just like every other B-school. If I have to talk about my batch 2021-23 it was 5-6 LPA

I did not take any scholarship, or financial assistance so I won't be the right person to talk about it. But if I have to talk about the internship, they start from the first quarter of your 2nd year of your PGDM. The stipend one could expect is between the range of 3k-15k per month (depending upon the expertise and specialization of the candidate) The final placements start mostly from the last quarter (October) of your 2nd Year. For all the specializations the average placement that I saw in my batch was between 5 to 6 lakhs per year.

Life at the campus is sorted. Once you enter the college the formation of committees for cultural, placement, and sports, starts and you have to be part of at least one. Everyone finds their space in SBS let it be dancers, singers, sportspeople, and others. You are assured to get your room and perform accordingly. In a year there are tens of activities, events, and other guest programs that are conducted to engage you constantly and groom your personality. Well, try to make your mark through all these committees in the beginning. As you might have heard "First impression is the last impression".

The hostel rooms and food are way better than the other colleges of similar level in the demography. The rooms are cleaned daily and basic hygiene is maintained. Apart from the hostel, nearby residence facilities are available for renting purposes.

The admission process consists of 3-4 non-hectic rounds. 1st is clearing the basic cut-off through any management competitive exam. 2nd one needs to participate in an interactive GD round, where the topics are not so complicated to speak about. The main focus is to precisely check your communication, and understanding levels. In 3rd round, you have to clear a personal interview. This round revolves around to analyze your knowledge, communication, and determination levels. Under a time frame of a week or less, the college reverts with the result. And, if you are selected congrats, you will be welcomed with an introduction session. Other necessary details: 1) Approx. The CAT percentile to be eligible for SBS is around 60 percentile. 2) You can easily find the application form through the SBS website. The window for applying mostly starts after the CAT results and continues till the second quarter of the year (June-July).

The rounds that I went through are divided into 2 parts: a) GD b) Personal Interview The process is not at all difficult, you just need to be confident about yourself (and not be over-confident), stay true (it's fine if you don't know something admit it and move on!), and have a basic understanding of your background, business environment around you, and why do you want to pursue this course?
