Remarks

I miss the good old days at SKIPS! The college was an enabler in every sense for me. I already had considerable industry experience in Supply Chain prior to joining my PGDM however, SKIPS through its rigour and industry focused curriculum helped me gain better mileage for my career. I saw a steady jump of 80% in my salary package post my PGDM- int he same field.

Entrance Preview

I took MAT in the year 2014 and got 97.66%. I opted for St. Kabir Institute of Professional Studies for the infrastructure and the faculty. I was really impressed when I went for the open day for the first time and I remember the kind of intellectually stimulating conversation I had with faculty there.

Course Curriculum Overview

5

It was fantastic. I remember getting exposure through a very incisive and rigorous PGDM curriculum that had given me a chance to network with some of the renowned businessmen and industry professionals of Gujrat. In fact, the live projects we underwent three years before, opened my eyes to some of the harsher realities of the corporate conundrum. It was a very intellectually rich experience at SKIPS for me.

Internships Opportunities

Yes! During my days, I interned with a fabric company that dealt in export of high quality silk to UAE. It was there for the first time I tested the waters in Supply Chain and my interest in the domain started growing by leaps and bounds. I was on a stipend of Rs. 5,000/ month for the 2 months' stint.

Placement Experience

4.5

SKIPS does not talk tall about its placements and additionally, enevr during ym admissions process was I promised of high package or placements, etc. However, the college did assure that if I work hard, placements will eventually come as a pert and parcel of my PGDM journey and it indeed did! In fact 95% of our class was placed with leading corporate and brands in the country. We were recruited across various sectors, domains and profiles.

College Events

5

At SKIPS, learning was combined with equal stress on taking up responsibilities. Numerous events used to happen throughout the year which used to be completely student driven and we used to learn coordinating to management, everything real-time from those activities. I still see SKIPSians taking a lot of charge and coming out with more innovative events than ever. The Book Club, Movie Club, annual fest, stock exchange club for finance students, etc were very celebrated events at the B-school during my years. Am sure a more has gotten added over time.

Fee Structure And Facilities

The fee structure is feasible and if you are looking for a sound, global management education, you have to get a bit out of your comfort zone- no matter what! The current day tuition fee for pursuing PGDM from SKIPS stands to be INR 4,45,500. The school with its growing fame and ranking, is emerging as one of the top B-schools of Gujrat.

Fees and Financial Aid

No I am not aware of this. However, St. Kabir Institute of Professional Studies does not have any agents, liaison/admission offices, representatives or any other office/s other than the Institute’s office at Ahmedabad. Candidates are requested not to depend upon or deal with any person or organization/s claiming to be associated with the Institute. SKIPS does not have any branches.

Campus Life

5

Campus life is super at SKIPS. With a peer learning experience that is diverse both in terms of gender and academics, at SKIPS. we from Class 2015 remember having an entrepreneur in our classroom alongside a lawyer, a Biotechnologist, a lot of humanities students beside the engineers and commerce grads. The gender representation is that of 40% females in the classroom.

Hostel Facilities

4

It is not a residential campus or a residential programme at SKIPS. SKIPS does assist students to get PG/ hostel accommodation in nearby areas of the college however, there is no hostel powered by St. Kabir Institute of Professional Studies particularly. The mess food (we popularly used to call it cafeteria) is good- has a lot of healthy options and in my last visit to the campus, I again ate the rajma chawal. The taste hasn't hanged on bit. And oh, not to forget the Maggi and the freshly squeezed juices in winter!

Alumni/Alumna

Alumni team of SKIPS are often involved in some of the important processes of the college- one being mentorship. Alumnis are often invited on campus to mentor students and give them lectures across various important, relevant industry topics. This help even the alumni to forge relationship and stay up to date with the current trends in academics and pick freshers from campus for their own organizations if need be.

Exam Structure

At SKIPS you have to be ready to really face a rigour which you otherwise might not experience in all B-schools. In fact, we laughingly used to say, "the sun never sets here." We used to attend classes sometimes from 8 am till 9 pm and even go back home to pull the extra studies for the next day and prepare the assignments. End term examinations and case studies, group discussions, etc, would keep us on our toes, day in and out. Now I understand the signficance of a curriculum such as SKIPS's.

Admission

- I filled up SKIPS online/ offline application form and registered for further screening and PI process - I got short listed on the basis of application form and my marks in MAT and was called for the 2nd round of screening - I underwent the screening process along with the other shortlisted candidates + I took the personal interview round - I got a call thereafter being evaluated through my Personal Interview session but then the college released the Merit list candidates first

Faculty

4.5

The faculty pool is a very well selected pool of accomplished academicians who come with considerable industry plus teaching experience. In fact, in this context I can literally think of individual faulty names who I can applaud for making me who I am today. Mentorship or teaching at SKIPS doesn't end with the graduating year, it continues even beyond your graduation. That's the kind of open door policy the college follows.
