Misrimal Navajee Munoth Jain Engineering College - [MNMJEC], B.Tech, Information Science & Engineering

Remarks

The college provides best of everything possible to the students. The management also monitors the progress of each department and each student and takes necessary steps based on the students condition.. The management also collects feedback through forms and reviews sessions and assures to correct it as soon as possible.

Entrance Preview

For MNMJEC we don't have to write any of the entrance exams..We can get a seat here based on your +2 cut-off or directly through management quota. I chose this college as many of my known people have studied from the same institution and have got a very good job plus it is a Jain institution so we need not worry about the quality of food and any other policies.

Course Curriculum Overview

5

The curriculum was well organised and structured in such a way that even if we weren't from computer science field we can easily start from the scratch.. And then as the number of semesters increase, the subjects become more interesting and helpful for us to have a wide knowledge of the recent trends and technologies and the way it can be used. Even the electives were offered in varieties for us to choose based on our interest.

Internships Opportunities

The internship process is something that the students need to take care of.. The college will just provide the contacts and the bonafide certificates to the students.. But the institute arranges a lot of Industrial Visits for the students so that we can explore the real world scenario..

Placement Experience

5

The placement cell arranges weekly placement training for all the final year students.. And even the 2nd and 3rd year students are given training on aptitude and their communications.. This year the placement started by August and till January 71% of the students were placed and the placement cell is still (June) arranging campus drives for the students.. Infosys, Vernalis, Kaar technologies, Tech Mahindra, CapGemini, DBS solutions, prodapt etc. The offered packages were from 3.5 to 10 LPA.

College Events

5

Yearly once each department conducts either state-level or national-level technical symposiums, national conferences and a 2-day cultural fest.. The number of participants are always unexpected and so, we need to forcefully close the registrations..

Fee Structure And Facilities

As it is a No-Donation, No-Capitation institution, we need not worry about the fee.. The fee structure is as follows: 74k- tuition fees, 12k- mess, 5k- books.. The yearly fees will not be more than 95k. And apart from this, the college provides transportation facility which costs around 19k per year.

Fees and Financial Aid

The institute also provides scholarships for the students who can not afford to pay the fee.. But I'm not sure about the process.

Campus Life

5

The college have registered to various societies like ACM and various other student chapters. Each department has 3 and more clubs which allows students to teach, learn through or conduct workshops, hands-on sessions. There are 50-50% of boys and girls in the college. And non-Jain students need not worry about being rejected as they aren't Jain etc.. This institute offers a fair competition in all aspects..

Hostel Facilities

5

I don't know much about hostels and PGs but as far as what I've heard from my friends, the hostels are good and are not too expensive.. And the PGs could be found easily near the college.. And the mess food is very good here.. The menu changes on a day to day basis for a week. The institute also arranges a meeting with students to discuss the menu. The students can suggest and then vote for the particular item. There are 4 mess halls- Jain boys, Jain girls, Non- Jain boys and Non- Jain girls.

Alumni/Alumna

Each department maintains batch wise alumni groups of their department through social media, and the placement cell has a wide network of all the seniors of all the departments.. Every year the alumni are called to interact and give their suggestions to the college and to the students to improve.. And every department individually calls few of the alumni to interact with and guide the students.

Exam Structure

The exams are scheduled in such a way that the student can prepare well for the exams.. At the same time the exam structure makes sure that the test covers as much important topics as possible so that the student pays more attention on them which will be beneficial for the student during semester exams.

Admission

I got my admission through management quota.. In the beginning of May the college starts issuing the admission form. The first week will be for Jain students and the second for non-Jain students. We need to buy the admission form for Rs. 500.. After filling the form, we need to post the form to the college. By may end we'll get a call from the college regarding our selection and we'll be given a date to submit all our certificates.. We'll have the options to choose any of the available courses offered by the college.

Faculty

5

The faculty here are well-qualified and have years of experience in teaching.. We can even find research scholars and Ph.D holders as the faculty. The faculty of this college makes sure that we learn the subject completely though it is not a part of the curriculum. The only thing we need to bare is with the English of few of the staffs.
