A free bird with wings of fire.

It will be a college like you are watching in movies, full of freedom i felt that I had enjoyed a lot in my college but all colleges have bad remarks too likewise my college also have some. I missed the punctuality, regularity because of the freedom but overall it was good.

It was obviously not through any entrance examinations. I had scored 1111 out of 1200 in Higher secondary. The admission is through the counselling of tamilnadu govt on the basis of cut off marks scored in the higher secondary. I had aimed to select mechanical engineering course, but not thought of this college. Truly speaking, I don't even heard of this college. But the reason I had selected this because its a government college which is famous for its standard. Also the fee structure. Even the colleges in the heaven couldn't be able to give this low fee structure.

It started from the basics of all engineering subjects(Civil, Mechanical, Electrical, Electronics, Compute) which makes us to realize what is the basic of total engineering. Of course some classes were boring, but we enjoyed those classes by making laughter within ourselves. And after that we had gone for specific technical studies, which includes thermal, heat n mass transfer, kinematics, dynamics, strength of materials, engineering graphics, engineering mechanics and a lot more. We didn't listen when the lecturer teached us. But while the examination we realised the hell of hardness. Any how all the engineering students know how to manage those overnight studies. The four years made us to know what is college and the value of friendship.

I don't want to tell lie about this. There is no such thing like that in our college. We have to arrange it on our own. But we got the government scholarships every year. But if we go outside of the campus we could easily get internships as we are studying in government college. The name provided the opportunity.

The placement cell provided us lot of oppurtunities in IT companies. But as all mechanical engineers do, I too didn't prefer IT jobs. But they also arranged us core company like Titan, Pistons India Ltd. My bad, I didn't get selected in those.

This is the greatest part of all the colleges where we could celebrate the college days to the highest level. Frankly speaking we celebrated all days, but those days are special. Because those days make memories and those memories make us smile. College symposium, sports day, culturals day, department function, batch day, etc. As I have already told, we have the freedom to celebrate as much as we can. One more thing we didn't have any girl students in our class, so there weren't any restictions too. You could ask where is the enjoyment without girls. Yes always there is enjoyment. Its men's thing. But we are unique without girls which makes girls to stare at us.

I previously mentioned, this could be the lowest fee structure I had ever heard. Rs.6500 per annum approximately. And also we had given the scholarship of Rs.6000 approximately per year. No other expenses except semester exam fee which would be around 1000 per semester.

Government scholarships are available in our college loan facilities are also available it is enough to study for four years.

We have all the facilities for extracurricular activities like sports, functions, parties, labs, etc we didn't have to depend on other colleges or parties. There are no separations we met we have the freedom of wings and it was with full of facilities which made us to enrich in our field like fire.

It was normal as you know the maintenance of government sectors, it is not an exception speaking of the food, no food will satisfy you with your mom's food. It was also ok. The hostel fee was 4000 per annum and the mess fee was on sharing basis which would be around Rs.1500 per month.

Every year we are having our alumni meet but unfortunately I cant be able to attend all those. But while I was in college we met lot of our alumni which made us to interact with them to get knowledge in outside fields.

I was free and had lot of time between the exams. But as a student I would always prefer it to be a tough one that's why I choosed to study at last night. Lol. But as a professional it was good. But for the betterment of the students the exam structure could be altered. The subjects we are having is basic and theory wise, it could be altered with application wise.

We are the first set of mechanical engineering in our college. So we could say we are the first son of the department. And our faculty gave us more freedom so that we could easily express our thougts and doubts to them. They had given us the freedom to access labs at any time for our practices. There is no negative point I could find with my faculty.
