Remarks
Overall a good learning experience in this college. I would ask the college staff to do more of technical or job based coaching rather than concentrating on the academics. Would be great if they can start an alumni meet or something for the benefit of students.
Entrance Preview
The admission for this course was not through any entrance exam and only based on 12std aggregate marks. I joined this course purely for the passion in life sciences. And I joined this particular college because of the laboratory facilities it had. I had checked other colleges for this course and of all them, this had the best infrastructure.
Internships Opportunities
There was no internship opportunities in this program. As the course curriculum was set by Bangalore University, we did not have any internship program options, but we did make use of summer holidays to get into some place for little project work.
Placement Experience
There was no campus recruitment for the Bachelors course. But I found out none of the colleges offering this course in Bangalore had campus placements.
College Events
One conference was organized in the three year program, where in external speakers were invited to give talks on some of our subject topics and also on job market conditions. This was very helpful. Annual sports competition was held every year.
Fee Structure And Facilities
Had paid INR 30,000 per year for the course. this would come up to INR 90,000 for the three year course. This was almost the same across colleges. Apart from fees there was very minimal fee collected for exams or any events.
Fees and Financial Aid
I don't know anyone who availed loan or scholarship facility that was availed for this particular course. We were never informed about this as well. So I suggest anyone not to expect this from the college.
Campus Life
There was never a divide between ethnicity or religion. It was a very decent campus life and nothing to do with politics as well. I felt good going to college and always feel that I learnt a lot in this college.
Hostel Facilities
Some of my classmates did stay in college hostel. They were not completely happy about the food in the hostel. The fee structure for the hostel was about INR 3000 per month including food. The hostel was pretty close to the college.
Alumni/Alumna
As we were the first batch in Bachelors, there were only Masters students to look upon. The alumni network form the college did not exist only interpersonal associations between the students helped us out.
Exam Structure
Exams were organized in a very professional manner. They were moderately spaced out, so that the students get sufficient time to prepare for the next ones. The facilities in lab provided during exams were very good.
Faculty
The faculty did know the subjects they were teaching. The standard was maintained very good all through the three year course. At times fresh M.Sc., students who passed out of the same college were chosen as faculty to teach Bachelor course subjects, which I personally don't feel happy about.
