Remarks

Everything was awesome except regular maintenace of buildings. We got our career, life-partner, good friends, leadership values, enterpreneurship from this campus. For many students political career started from this campus.

Entrance Preview

AIMPT cut off marks, One of oldest and second biggest govt medical college in gujarat. Admission is purely on merit basis and fees are negligible (rs 6000 per yr including hostel stay, food extra).

Course Curriculum Overview

4

Course is based on medical council of india guidelines covering vast topics in each subjects, during first year it is 60 percent classroom teaching and 40 percent practical teaching while from second year onwards, its more focused on clinical/ practical teaching and less of classroom studies. It is 30 percent classroom teaching and 70 percent practical teaching and during third professional semesterit is almost clinical teaching and only 10 percent classroom teaching. We have 24 hour exceess to seniors to have help in case of confusion.

Internships Opportunities

There is compulsory internship for one year after final exams and it is rotatory internship. Stipend ranging from rs 25000 to 32000 per month is given with free single accomodation. You are posted in various hospitals for 1 to 3 months each under specialist. This is the time we have chance to implement our gained knowledge in practice under supervision of seniors.

Placement Experience

5

There is 100 percent placement as on admission you have to give bond to govt to serve for atleast 2 years in govt hospital and there is always vacancy in govt as well as private hospitals for doctors. you may get salary of rs 70000 to 3 laks per month.

College Events

4.5

Campus is full of activities thruout the year. There is sports event, there is cultural function, There is regular magazine publication by the students, debate is regularly organised. Welcome function for new comes and farewell for outgoing students.

Fee Structure And Facilities

Fees are negligible rs 6000 per year. Hostel accomodation is free. Book bank issues books to needy students with small deposit. for girls and those from reserved categories and those with lower family income, there is no tution fees. for other expenses lot many foundations and particularly reliance foundation gives scholarship to briliant and needy students. thus money does not matter in this college.

Fees and Financial Aid

College does not provide any scholarships directly to students but you will get forms and access for various govt and trust sponsored scholarships and educational loans by leading banks.

Campus Life

4.5

Campus is independent, large and consist of 8 big hostels for boys in ug, 4 big hostels for girls in ug, 3 hostels for pg, one hostel for interns and quaters for all teaching faculties. there is gymkhana ground and cricket ground and volleyball in campus. gymnasium is also there. one 24 hr canteen and one day only canteen. Common tv room, laundry service, bank branch, post office, ATM, secuirity, own electricity sub station, pwd office etc all required services available in campus. Gender ratio of m:f is almost same.

Hostel Facilities

5

Hostel facility is provided in campus itself to all students almost free of cost. There is mess system of groups of students on sharing basis in each hostel run by member students themselves and for which required infrastructure is provided by college authority. Food is as per our wish and quality is excellent.

Alumni/Alumna

Now a days ragging is past and authority deals strongly with such incidence. Highpower anti ragging committee is working. All seniors are always supportive. Alumini association is running successfuly with gathering at regular intervals. Reunion groups are formed by each batch which holds get togather in college campus at feasible,Sintervals. Students union is very powerfull with budgetary allocation.

Exam Structure

It is realy tough as you have to read all available books and reference material from national and internation authours on each subject and there is nothing like prefixed textbooks. You have to pass each and every exam separately and failing in one exam will lead you to study it again and pass it after 6 months and then only you will be promoted to next semester. Passing practical exam and viva is the most tough task and you have to pass theory and practicals separately. There is no advantage of atkt. You have to pass all subjects of particular semester and then only you will be promoted to next semester. Passing marks in each subject is 50 percent.

Faculty

4

All the faculties are quite experienced during whole course. Each faculty is allocated specific topic for small group of students and afterwards you have to pass viva in that respective topic. There is 5 tier cadre of teaching faculties starting below from tutors or demonstrators, then lecturer or resident, then assistant proffesor, then associate proffesior, then proffesior. Teaching schedule is monitored by academic council.

The college infrastructure is very new compared to that of the hostel. And while the library remains one of the best in whole Gujarat the hostel looks very old compared to it. Overall it is best if you want to take the course as Neet prepatation in Library is also allowed even when your course is completed.
