Remarks
Helpful, but again, not that great. Probably require a stronger management system for the college to stand on its own, which I think is being difficult right now given there are no strong names to back them up with.
Entrance Preview
CET Opted for the college cause it is close to home. I opted for MBA in finance cause it's a field I wanted to make my career in.
Course Curriculum Overview
I elected Finance and overall, the course was detailed and helped a lot. They had 4 semesters, 4th one being the specialization. The first 3 sememesters were common across specializations, so basically it helped learn about management overall, and then specifically about finance.
Internships Opportunities
Not too many internship offers were available. I got through GTL Ltd and the general stipend offered was INR 4000.While we were made to sit for placements and interviews, even mock interviews were conducted, but the internships were barely offered to a few, that also by reference.
Placement Experience
Placements at Sasmira are bad. It mainly works on reference, and incase if you don't have reference, good luck. Also, the faculty makes you sit through interviews even for companies where you wouldn't want a job, and they insist you take up the first offer that comes your way, which isn't fair if someone then manages to get a better offer. All of this sort of makes it a bad experience.
College Events
Since it was just the first year of MBA at Sasmira when I joined, there wasn't much of a celebration of event. However, we did a traditional day and a day where guest lecturers came and spoke about certain management related topics.
Fee Structure And Facilities
Feasible. Given the fact that it was a new college and starting off, and linked to Mumbai university, the fee structure wasn't exceptionally high. was absolutely manageable given the course details we were taking up.Was about 2.4 L for 2 years.
Fees and Financial Aid
Nope, didn't. in fact, not even aware of any loan facities that was given by the college to the students.given the low fee structure, they probably didn't require it.
Campus Life
Not so great, again because it was the first year. Since they just started out that year, they didn't have any extra curricular activities, only tried their best to give us management lessons without hiccups and classroom lectures.
Hostel Facilities
Hostel opportunities not available, hence can't rate them on food and living conditions. But where the college is concerned, the canteen wasn't well maintained and not too many options on the menu were available.
Alumni/Alumna
Didn't have any alumni, so can't really comment on that. Overall, the textile section had a couple of students, but we never really interacted with them given no common grounds.
Exam Structure
4 semesters, each one lasting 6 months. It is pretty chilled out at Sasmira, the labs were barely full, and the facuty isn't so stringent even during exams. We'd have lectures all day, but with suffiencent breaks in between, thus making it a smooth experience.
Faculty
Not great, but decent enough, and they were quite helpful as well. While they did try to help us out, the faculty I don't think was well equipped by themselves. There were quite a few glitches where the faculty was unable to solve the issues raised by the students.
