Remarks

I chose this college because it was near my house within 8 kms distance. For getting admission, first you need to purchase a prospectus & admission form & fill all the required details with around 6 passport size photographs which will be used by college & Guru Nanak Dev University for giving exam roll numbers. The faculty is knowledgeable about their subjects. Good points of college are it has a student area where they can sit & do their pending work. It has a big library having lot's of books which students can get issued for reference of any subject in case of difficulty or getting extra knowledge. The Principal is a kind person. Bad points include - infrastructure like furniture is not comfortable & requires upgradation. Rooms are a little old fashioned & has bad smell too. Placements are limited.

Course Curriculum Overview

3.5

It has good curriculum although syllabus is little older as compared to the new trends in technology. Course subjects require bit hard work to pass the exams. 12: 80 faculty: student ratio. Faculty is good. Teaching method is okay.

Placement Experience

3

From 5th semester end they are eligible for placements. Highest package was offered by TCS company of around 350000. Around 15% students get placed of all the candidates eligible depending on their performance.

Fee Structure And Facilities

Fees is about 30000 per semester which will gradually increase by the end of semester to 32000+. Fees can be paid in partial payments. Quite a few companies visit the campus towards the end of 5th semester. You need to have good knowledge in every subject & very good communication skills to clear the interviews.

Campus Life

3

There's a commerce fest organised by commerce section of college in campus area. They've sports faculty too but sports ground is far away from college. Sports include cricket, football, basketball etc.

Admission

There's not any interview, group discussion for admission. There's also not any written test for admission as it is on merit basis with minimum 50% marks in high school education like Class 12. Process is just like getting admission form & consulting teachers for deciding course.

The curriculumn of chandigarh university is releavant and covers core subjects with projects and labs. It support basic industry readiness, but pratical exposure can improve. Exam are held mid and the end semester with modern difficulty. More hands on experience and updated technoilogies would enhance overall effectiviness and career prepartions.

Course Curriculum Overview:

Curriculum needs to focus on what you can do with information rather than the information itself. I wouldn’t eliminate content, without background we cannot form good, rational, and educated conclusions. We are still giving timed tests in math facts! I know that’s traditional, but it just isn’t as important. My era had no calculators and we needed to be proficient at paper and pencil solutions, but now, perfect calculations are available to everyone. We should focus on what kinds of problems can be solved with mathematics. Spelling is equally less important. Vocabulary should be stressed. My sister years ago was taking a test for a personal assistant position where she was asked to type a large number of words per minute error free. She was laughing at such a test. She said no one does that anymore, they just type then run spell check. Technology is changing our NEEDS opinion is that curriculum should reflect our reality. No one gets paid to solve problems that have already been solved. Students should be exposed to solving problems they have not seen before but that can be solve with the content they have learned in class. This will help them develop problem solving strategies they will be able to use the rest of their lives
